Hi all! My biometrics appointment is today at 11am. I arrived a little past 10:30 and now at 10:59, I am out of the ASC. The staff at USCIS Norridge, IL were extremely proficient and polite.

Note: If your only form of ID is your passport which is still in your maiden (unmarried) name, bring your marriage certificate with you as well. 🙂

Have a good day, everyone!

Hello Flower1,

I downloaded USCIS APP on my smartphone since my fiance submitted the I-129F last year, it helped me to track all the steps of that process.

Yesterday I added 3 new cases 😁😁😁😁 I just added the "Received Date", so my cases have been active 19 days so far.

😖😴😪😤 the Waiting Game is not fun I can tell

Heya Ninatica,

The APP is definitely helpful!

and yup the wait is not fun at all haha. The wait for the I-129F was less painful, at least I was working in the meantime; now I have too much free time lol

Yeah msc, but how do I know the exact benefit centre handling my case. Thanks

That's the exact benefit centre handling your case.. called the National Benefit Center. I'm assuming you were expecting it to be either the California, Vermont, Nebraska, Texas or Potomac Service Centers depending on your jurisdiction. However....................... it is the National Benefit Center in this case since your case starts with MSC hehe

You can check their processing time on this website https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

Hope this helps

Hi @Nin&Way! Glad to see you here. We were both in the July 2016 K1 Filers thread. 🙂

Some are saying that it depends on the staff if they will look for the marriage certificate. I say still bring it just to be on the safe side.

At what time of the day does USCIS usually cash the checks?

Mine just showed up on my bank account around mid morning. I got the notification email & sms early morning at midnight, but no activity in the bank. Then I just checked at 12pm and the checks have been cashed. Yaaay...

I have selected c(26).

18. (c)(26) Eligibility Category. If you entered the eligibility category (c)(26) in Question 16 above, please provide the receipt number of your H-1B principal spouse's most recent I-797 Notice of Action for Form I-129.

Because I came here as K1 and now is married.  It is not showing (c)(9) choices in this form. Only (c)(3)(c), and (c)(35) and (c)(36)

Hi.

(c)(26) Description: Spouse of an H-1B nonimmigrant

Since you are adjusting status from K1, your eligibility category is definitely not (c)(26).

You are an adjustment applicant so your eligibility category then falls under (c)(9).

(c)(9) Description: Pending adjustment of status under Section 245 of the Act

On Form I-765 Page 1 Question 16, use (c)(9). Enter "c" on the first box and "9" on the second.

Page 2 Questions 17, 18 and 19 do not apply to you so just leave them blank.

When you re-submit your EAD application, attach a copy of the I-485 NOA1.

Goodluck.

My RFE for new I-864 forms reached their PO Box today, let's hope everything goes smoothly now.

Anyway, I'm got a question. I've read people going in early for their biometrics, is that true?

Mine is on May 12th, but I'm wondering if I can walk in early.

I understand the anxiety! I have a great job lined up in August and need the EAD before that. So I hope that 3 months are enough to get it or I might loose this opportunity. I wish both of us a speedy and uncomplicated process!

Congrats on your job! I've received a job offer 2 weeks ago that starts in August too, I accepted it and I'm hoping my EAD goes smoothly too! :)

Call USCIS and tell them you have a job offer and not having your EAD is causing you severe financial loss. Also you can search the forum for similar cases and more details. Good luck!

I considered expediting my EAD, but if the job only starts in August, do you think they will expedit it?
