My wife and I had our interview on Thursday. I'm still working on a writeup of how it went. Does anyone how how long it takes for the online status to update from "interview scheduled"? The ISO said it would take 4-6 weeks for a notice to be mailed but I've seen people receive approvals between 1 day and 1 week, on average.

Did they tell you whether you're approved or not? I had my interview a week ago and we were not given an answer. Just told we'll find out if we were approved or not through a letter in the mail. Online status hasn't changed yet. Still says "interview scheduled". 8 months and counting waiting for this residency application. It's a painful process

The ISO was incredibly vague. He didn't mention anything about the ROC process nor did he say whether we were approved or not. Just that we'd hear something in 4-6 weeks. It's been 8 months and counting for us, too.

Just finished writing my review of our experience on Thursday:

Quote

The USCIS officer (ISO Campbell) was in a terrible mood even before he met us. He kept saying that he was running 30 minutes late for a meeting and didn't have time to work with the interpreter that we had paid $200+ to be there so the ISO would do his best just to speak directly to my wife. From a technical standpoint, it was fine since my wife's English has improved tremendously in the past few months and she answered with poise every time, only hesitating occasionally because the officer was a bit intimidating.

The interview itself was a breeze. The ISO shusshed me when he asked my wife for her SSN card. I tried to explain that I had all of my wife's paperwork with me and that he'd need to talk with me to get it. All in all, the interview lasted no longer than 15 minutes and he asked very few questions other than a few of the standard ones from the I-485, our birth dates, phone numbers, and address. He spoke mainly to her although he did ask if I'd ever met or spoken with her parents. Towards the end of the interview, he asked if we had any more evidence (not already submitted with the I-485) that we would like to be considered as part of the AOS application. I plopped a 20-page packet of stuff on his desk which included boarding passes for recent trips, train tickets for a trip to visit my parents, bills in both of our names, a 401(k) beneficiary page showing her name, a printout from work showing her as an emergency contact, and a few other pages of documents demonstrating financial co-mingling. He also kept a few photos that I brought with me (they were copies) and he raised his eyebrows in a seemingly good way when viewing a few of them. The ISO was incredibly vague about whether we were approved or not. He didn't mention anything about the ROC process nor did he say whether we were approved or not. He said we'd hear something in 4-6 weeks.

I'd say this guy was your typical caricature of a government employee with a big fat chip on his shoulder. I was very disappointed with my overall experience because there were so many good reviews for the Philly USCIS office on VJ! The important thing here is that I kept my cool throughout the entire experience, was well-prepared with substantiating documents, and my wife projected confidence with every answer she gave.

I'm also in Austin and yes San Antonio is the correct office. I just got a letter out of the blue a couple days ago in the mail that my interview has been scheduled in January. There was no update on the website or text even though I have electronic notifications set up. My online status is still stuck at Fingerprint Fee Received from April 7th.

Also, I didn't file a service request or involve any congress person as I was prepared to wait until February, and my EAD and AP are good until July. Hang in there, it looks like they are beginning to process March/April filers in San Antonio!

Thank you!! I was pretty sure it was San Antonio but not 100%. My status is at "fingerprints" since April 4. Hopefully it'll be my turn soon!

Good luck with your interview! What day is it? If you don't mind, I'm going to follow you to get your updates. :)

PS: Is the appointment a normal-sized letter, or a big envelope? (We live in an apartment complex and mail delivery is complicated)

We go in for our interview tomorrow and I'm eager to have it behind me! I do feel as if we're prepared and have assembled all the necessary and pertinent information.

Any last tips or words of encouragement for my peers?

For those of you who, like me, wonder why the processing times haven't updated since September 30 - they post all the data every 3 months in a very detailed spreadsheet

https://www.uscis.gov/tools/reports-studies/immigration-forms-data/data-set-form-i-485-application-adjustment-status

If you click the first link, you can see how many applications each field office received, approved, denied, and still has pending. It makes me feel like I know a bit more about the reason it's been so slow for us.

What were your RFE's for? Congrats!

1) for move evidence that we are married - We didn't have much because I was just started a job, so by the time we send the rfe we had joint insurance and more evidence.

2) I-864 - They just needed a new job letter from my wife.

FYI, I had one of the toughest interviews. We interviewed with the director, who wasn't very pleasant. literally 40 min of fear. She mostly drilled my wife with questions.
