OMG I just saw the approval letter for my GC. And the case status states that my card was mailed. I wasn't even paying keep up with the status since the estimates lately are around 10 months. I didn't have an interview either. I am so excited.

Thanks visajourney and everyone who contributes their knowledge and data.

Hello, everybody!

Can anyone give any suggestions, advice about infopass? I am gonna go next week and want it to be as informative as possible. I am a may filer , but I think that you may have more experience in that.

The main questions are :

How they see our case in general?

when should we expect an interview date (case has been ready to be scheduled couple of months by now)?

what's going on with EAD?

Honestly, the Infopass appointment didn't help much - other than to tell us mostly what we already knew. For a full overview of what happened at our most recent appointment about a month ago, check out this post: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/630487-april-2017-aos-filers/?do=findComment&comment=8738390.

Has anyone on here updated their social security card after they received their green card?

Hey RandB!

Is that necessary? I'm not aware about that... I really don't want to go back that crowded place

Only if you change your name. Unfortunately for us, since my wife took my last name, we're headed back to the Social Security Office on Tuesday. No fun! :(

I did update mine 2 weeks ago using my EAD. Changed my maiden name on the social to my married name and had the restrictions lifted.

Oh ok I got it... yeah definitely isn't a fun place to go! Here in Orlando I waited about 30 minutes outside the building plus one hour inside  well lucky me I didn't change my name lol
