Ok So its a  based on a spendings vs earnings ..

Now I can flood them with bills ..

Thank you  brother...

Hahahahaha. You got me laughing right there. Flood them with bills, hell yeah!

Well that was my idea of how to prove them that we are having a severe financial loss as we are spending more than we are earning so there is not much left in our savings. Having only one person earning while having over 10 types of bills to pay per month is a huge setback.

I couldn't think of any other way to prove to them that we are losing a lot here financially so I thought maybe this is the right way.

Goodluck brother!

My SRs were also responded to a week ago with "case under review and you will hear from us shortly"; however, since then nothing has changed with my status online. I even faxed the expedite request with a job offer last week and still no movement. My employment start date is already past due and I don't know what can I do at this point.

Hey, just out of curiosity, how did you get a job offer knowing that you don't have a work permit yet? Did you actually apply for it or was it because you had an idea or have heard from elsewhere that if there is already a job offer you can have the application expedited for approval?

I have heard other people actively seeking for a job while waiting for their EAD and as soon as they are offered the job, they call USCIS to request for the case to be expedited.

Sorry for asking. But best of luck on your process. :)

I started actively seeking for a job in mid July, a month after graduation. I knew my work permit is due by September (roughly), and I should try to secure a job as close to its receipt as possible. It also so happened that a few places offered me a job very fast and i told them the truth: no work permit. I explained the situation with immigration process and how i can expedite based on JO. The recruiter handed me a letter the next day so i could fax and get a permit asap. I feel very bad for keeping the employer waiting on me. I got no reply to my Expedite request from USCIS at all even though they got my fax. I am not sure how to explain this to the recruiter now. USCIS may still take a few weeks if not a whole month, i am afraid.

Oopppsss. Yep, that is indeed scary.

Did they tell you when the start date would be and how many spots are available for the same position? If USCIS fails to give you an answer soon, give that employer a call and check with them if the position is still available. It would give a negative impression if you keep them waiting on you even though it was not your intention. Also, it's not like they did not know about your situation, you made them aware of it but still offered you the job anyway.

But if not, it sucks but I guess you just have to let it go and find a new one once you get your work permit.

I also had to make some sacrifices lately. I already have my work permit and I have been getting a lot of calls for interviews but had to put the job hunting on hold since we are relocating. They were good job opportunities but relocating comes first.

I can only wish you well and hope that they take a look at your case ASAP and have it processed.

I made an SR in July 3rd and another one in July 18 even tho no action has been taken regarding my first SR.

The July 3rd SR is still untouched, they managed to work on the July 18 SR after 9 days. My request for expediting the case was in July 21.

I was told by a rep that once a request to expedite the case has been created, the SR registered is no longer of importance. But on the same day that I received the mail from them asking for more evidence proving the reason for me filing for expediting the case, I also received the NOA2 for my EAD and AP.

They're kind of confusing at times but you just have to find the right person to talk to.

How do you do that? Keep calling. I also try to get the agent names and agent IDs of each rep I talk to. I had spoken to a guy called Cesar, another one called Lester, a lady called Courtney and fella named William, but only Lester and Courtney managed to help me go through my concerns about EAD updates. Mine got approved by the 107th day of being active. I started calling them on the 81st day.

I hope yours gets approved soon. :)

So I called USCIS today and as I was predicting nothing came out of it. They told me that i have to wait the 30 days the review of my SR takes, so before September 10th there's nothing to do... I asked if a supervisor (Tier 1 or 2) could give me more info and was told no, try to call again next month.

119 days and counting:(

Got my work permit approved last July 29. I am having my interview on Monday. :)

Total of 4 months for the whole thing from filing to approval. Some of my friends here had theirs completed in 3 months

I saw some cases from Orlando pending for over a year now. Had their EADs on time but no news about the GC.

Totally untrue. They told me the same thing. 30 days. But my SR for July 18 for my EAD "beyond normal processing times" got approved after 9 days.

Call again. I complained against an agent for giving me false info. And since the calls are recorded, I told the next rep I was on the phone with that I want to make sure a report is made against that previous agent I talked to 15 days ago. Gave him that agent's ID and name. I also reiterated on the call that I want this recording played and listened to by that supervisor.

That agent I complained about told me it takes 120 days "before an update is received" for the EAD. Just an update, not even an approval. So the next call I made was to report him to the higher ups. I knew he was not telling me the truth. He is also the one who did my SR for July 3 which was untouched.

If I were you, I would call and call and call again until I am given a proper update.

All the best.

Well, he is the only applicant in Orlando that I have heard of so far whose application is so delayed. Others did not have issues. I guess it's a case to case basis as well.
