Just a random thought when reading this thread:

If all countries adopted the same policies to travelers as the US, it would indeed be hard to "build a travel history".

I think the main reason was your financial - which is a key factor in establishing ties to your own country. You said your salary is 3 lakh per annum and that comes to about ~US$380 per month. Unless you have a large savings, the IO will determine that you cannot afford to travel to the US based on your own salary alone which is why you needed your uncle to "sponsor" you and your sister. As others have pointed out, to qualify for a tourist visa, you need to be able to support yourself for the entire trip. You are welcome to visit relatives and stay with them during your visit but they cannot be the main source of funding for your trip. The fact that the house you are currently living in is only "partially owned" and your ownership being contested in court did not help at all. Also, culturally, it is unusual for an Indian woman to not be married at your age and your sister's age. The IO might see that as a 'red flag' as having intention to find suitors in the US through your uncle, as arranged marriage is a deeply rooted practice in your culture.

Like many have suggested, you should not try to apply for a tourist visa again anytime soon unless there is significant changes in your circumstances - mainly your finances. To start, make sure that you can show financial strength to support a visit to the US by yourself - including airfare, lodging, food, etc. Establishing other commitments in your own country such as buying property, investment, etc will help in your case as well. And lastly, I will reiterate what others have said, build your travel history. You are not likely to get a US tourist visa without having travelled to a few comparable countries - like UK, Australia, New Zealand, and some of the EU countries.

Good luck!

Apparently a US visa has become a sort of a holy grail. Build up a travel history for what.. to improve the chance for a US visa, sadly.

You could lay blame on past B2 travelers from your country who overstayed. Have a peek at COS\AOS from your country threads on this forum. Flouting visa rules leads to higher scrutiny for genuine visitors.

Thailand\Maldives are nice in the summer.
