I don't know if that's something out of the ordinary really. I manually scanned thousands of cases to get April case numbers and, as I mentioned once before, I noticed K1'S are only like a 10% of the total applications the tracker shows.

Given the tracker doesn't include some type of visas, like H1 or Diversity Lottery, that can give us an idea of the huge load of work they have and how every one of our cases is just a drop of water in the USCIS ocean :)

But they keep going anyway, we have proof of it, so here's to a great week for the Aprilites (finally :P).

I assumed the proportion of applications remained the same but the grouping had a little higher saturation of i-130's than I'd previously witnessed in a particular time period. If i-129F's increased so did every other type of application. It may be a cyclical thing too since the same thing happened last year in the same time period. I know... I'm way too analytical about this whole thing. I have to maintain my sanity somehow! ;)

I've been meaning to mention this... I'm sure anyone who has scanned the USCIS tracker database before may have noticed that there were an incredible number of i-130 as well as other applications in the late March time frame. It has been my opinion that the lull in activity on i-129F applications was in large part due to that. I recall scanning through over 1000 applications and not having one hit on an i-129F. I'm hoping and praying we're past that now. We're all ripe for some good news. The ongoing trickle of approvals can't continue. I know they're still there working in California doing the same job they've done for as long as they've been there. In another 3 hours and they'll start their week and work on the next batch of overly anxious filers!

Yes my fiance has told me he has to scan like thousands of I130 filers before he can get to i129f before us

Lol, I'm quite like that too, so I get it!

You might be right. I also saw patterns in certain days of the week for a higher batch of some type of applications. I-130 are the most common ones for sure.

I'm sure you also saw someone mentioned on March thread about last year showing the same pattern for March petitions during July getting slowly processed. So yep, crazy process, but apparently normal :P

Rule #1 is do not buy plane tickets without visa in hand.  This sage advice had been repeated on countless occasions here on VJ.  If you poke around the forums enough, you will find many examples of money lost and plans gone awry.

I see. Good thing we were still just thinking about it. Glad I asked though. Thanks so much!

I agree, buying tickets before visa in hand is risky. That being said. Last minute ticket prices double the fare. My Faye has never flown before so I'm flying with her. I figured 2 months from NOA2 too interview, so I will add a month after that and buy our tickets. She works for a Call Center so they do yearly med certs, so that doesn't worry me.

I'll probably buy my tickets before visa in hand too, but I'll wait until I know the date for my interview.

My fiance is coming a couple of weeks after that so we can fly home together. Since he's also going to be here a couple of weeks, that gives me a month after the interview to get the visa in hand, so it should be safe, given AP here is normally short.

Anyway, I'm doing this to make sure I can get seats in the same flights as him, but being aware that I might have to change the tickets if something happens.

I'm willing to assume that risk, but I'd never get tickets before knowing when my interview is.

That was my plan too. Except if everything goes as planned I'll pay the fee to move her flight date up if there's a flight available sooner.

Hope it works!

We've renounced to see each other while waiting just so he can come for a couple of weeks to properly say goodbye to my family, along with helping me out with the move and flying home together, so really hoping it works for us too :)

Can't wait, right? :D

On a positive note, there's already two March filers with Informed Delivery USCIS letters this morning. That's a great start!

Edit: Both March 24th NOA2's.

That is AWESOME! Hope we April get ours soon!

@kat.caprio thanks for the welcome! Believe me, we are really apprehensive too about booking too many things for the very same reason. The "what ifs" can cause nightmares.

@pajobra we've been engaged since my birthday on Nov 12th last year so we REALLY dragged our feet before we started getting paperwork together and of course now we're getting bit on the butt for it. Back when we started looking around on VJ, a 95 day average was closer to the norm, now it seems to be the exception. Who knew it'd be closer to 120...if you're lucky just 3 months later. I think we all assume we're special and that there's no way it'll take as long for us. Obviously, life has its own way of humbling people. lol

@Jeff and Alina, @relaxango I've realized that there's so many ppl on VJ planning to do Disney trips, it probably deserves its own forum on here. lol We're so excited to go! Who can say no to the happiest place on earth anyway? lol The Halloween Party looks fun! We're hoping to catch the Christmas Party. Are any of you gonna see Cirque de Soleil at Disney Springs too? This is the last year it'll be available. Definitely want to see it before it's gone for good. At this point I think all us VJers really deserve our own special Disney discounted group rate! Lord knows we're spending enough already. lol

@Keith & Monica lol my VJ twin! Where have u been all this time?!  I'd say we both have great minds and you know what they say about people with great minds. 😄

This will be the third time taking the kids to the Disney Halloween party. The first time we all dressed as pirates, the second time Marvel superheroes and this time we will all be in the Incredibles theme . . . le sigh, another year in spandex.

Hoping this week brings good fortune to all and the NOA2 fairy deposits some letters in our mailboxes.
