Just curious, what do you mean by "online notice"? Is there some way to see your NOA2 before it comes in the mail?

If you go online and sign up to view case status you can click yes to receiving both email and texts about your case although people seem to not be receiving them.

I stated the received and notice dates. The didn't know about it until two days ago was the implied received date as it didn't post online.

Oh, great, thank you for correcting me, since I was talking about info I saw here on Igor's list :)

Even more great news. Someone with a 3/28 received date (4/3 Notice Date) has a USCIS letter coming in the mail today. Just saw that on the March fillers thread. Exact same timeline that some of our fellows here, so Aprilites time is coming for sure :D

And as for me...

DAY 102 (107 since received date)

Nothing in the mail today... except since we got Informed Delivery I got to know how annoying is my fiance's mail. He keeps getting letters for a bunch of girls. We had Pamela and Jenifer, and today we have a Grace... Had to ask him if he has a harem living there when I'm not around :P

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

my timeline gets pushed back, again. :)

On a different note, is Informed Delivery sporatic for anyone? I feel like at least once a week I don't get a notification. It's certainly not a big deal, but when I travel it'll be nice to know if something important arrives so I can have my roommate bust it open for me to confirm what it is!

I have it for both my house in Orlando and my apartment in Jacksonville and the Orlando mail is very reliable. My apartment in Jacksonville is next door to the mail facility and I may or may not get the mail that's pictured. That's where I'm expecting my NOA2 notification and I have cause for concern. Just yesterday I failed to get the mail pictured. It was someone else's junk mail with my address so I won't complain. I've been living there 3 years and only one out of five mail items has my name on them.

@spike198 Can't confirm, since I don't get to see the actual mail and Gary normall checks once a week and he doesn't check Informed Delivery really. But yeah, somedays it doesn't report because (supposedly)

Hi all,

I'm new to this thread and have a couple of questions to ask about what I've been reading! Not sure if this is the right place but here goes...

At first I assumed I was a 'April filer' since we received our 'application received notification on April 10th'. But I now see that there is a received date and notification date and am super confused because we only have one date to go off.

Im also confused as to how NAO2 will be received. Since my fiancé is in the army we put his home address for all mail thinking this would be fine as we also signed up for electronic notifications. But now I see that NAO2 comes by mail only. I guess my question is... will the online case status be updated also?

Thanks in advance! (Sorry if these questions have already been answered multiple times)

Welcome!

The notification date listed on the NOA1 is what VJ goes by and is your official date for processing. As far as the NOA2, not being there to get the letter doesn't affect your timeline at all. It's just allows you to breathe a little easier in between approval and notification from the embassy. Unfortunately the choice of USCIS to not update approvals can have a much more negative impact on your stress level in your situation. But in the larger scheme, it has zero impact on the time from filing to POE.

Welcome! :)

So regarding your questions... We talk about received date and notice date, referring to both dates showed on your NOA1 hardcopy. Received date is when they received your petition, as you can read also when checking in the case tracker ("On April xx we received your case..."), while notice date is when they actually processed it on the system... Usually same date you received the email/text.

And yep, you got that right. Unfortunately the case tracker hasn't been working for Approval since early May, just RFE's, so keep an eye in the mailbox. Maybe check if USPS Informed Delivery works for your address?

Thanks for the reply! I actually just scrambled back through texts off my fiancé to see the letter again and realised that there are two dates! So looks like I'm a NAO1 4/13 😊 And I've changed my timeline.

All this time I have been checking the case status online! I'll have to have him check with family if there is any mail for him.

Hopefully we all see some progress soon. I'm tired of seeing my estimated approval dates pushed back.

Thanks for the info! I may have to have him change the address to his military address. It will certainly be more stressful not knowing day to day if we have been approved. I've been checking daily on USCIS.gov.... now I know that was pointless.

But hey, at least I'm aware now, we could have been waiting forever 🤣
