I think you have a bunch of different options:

1- Change your Embassy to the country you are currently living. You need to wait until the NVC stage to do that, after NOA2, though some people said they couldn't manage to do that there because of how short is the time the petition stays at NVC before being sent to the Embassy. But you can still go through the necessary process to get your case transferred from your home country to the one you are living at the time, if you consider that would be better.

2- Plan a trip to your home country for the medical and interview, if that's possible.

3- Follow your option, but make sure you are doing the right thing, but calling/emailing the Embassy and seeing how the extension of the NOA2 works and if you can wait to do everything once you are back.

I guess you will be able to better plan once you get the NOA2 and things start moving again, but good you are planning ahead :)

I guess youRe right. First option is Better. Its because i dnt want to terminate my contract and pay for like roughtly $1800 to the company 😔😔😖😖 ..

and also because i have a k2.. he's in my home country.. i dnt know when will i be able to process his visa.

Anyways, @Estibaliz after we have the Noa2, thats the time i can ask for my fiance to call the NvC to have my documents send in here and not my home country?? ThankyOu soo Much..

very informative.

Exactly, that's what I've read just today because someone else from July was asking for advice in the same matter.

It has to be done through the NVC, though I don't know the details. So yes, I'd say to call them once you have NOA2, and tell them what's happening to see if there's something you can do so they know you want to do the change and see if they hold your case there until fixed.

But the thing is your K2 has to go through the medical and interview too, if he's moving with you now, right? (no kids myself)

Haha no way! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys! I'm in Guildford just outside of London :) We'll probably both have our interviews nearly at the same time.

OMG I'm in Woking! - June filer though, but still shocked to see 'Guildford' mentioned!

I'm sorry, but I can't help you with that part. Hopefully someone can around here or just open a new thread in the K1 general forum for advice.

It seems to me it should be done at the same time (and same place) since you are traveling together 😕

I lived in Smyrna which is near Marietta and it was a great community. I love Marietta and Kennesaw too. All are low crime areas. Atlanta has some really bad areas and traffic is miserable... but much less so on the north side of Atlanta proper.

I was reading the comments this morning and went and did a little searching and I came across this Thread, well google found it for me. It is some interesting insight into the process and what happens during process  at CSC. I understand that this individual did not actually work K-1's; however, the process is the same for all it seems. As suspected, it is the "hits" on the background checks that slow things down. From what I read and understand, once an officer has his cases, he has them from start to finish it seems, so it makes sense to me why we are seeing random dates coming through and not in any particular order, and if your petition is behind someone who has some "hits" on background ... well then you can expect it slows him/her down on yours. In any event ... Maybe most of you already have seen this, but for those who haven't check it out ... it's a good read, and I get the sense that these officers are out to approve petitions ... they're not out to make our lives miserable, so while it is frustrating to wait I have to believe that they are on our side and doing their due diligence to get things in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible. I hope you guys don't get behind me .. cuz I got a couple hits I know :jest: Rest assured though ... my packet is complete with all the info required  ... so hopefully I am not responsible for too much of a slow down for you. Dang misdemeanors ;) .... Anyways ya'll have a great day ... and heads up all ... our day is drawing near! :D
