Im not always optimistic, I have my days. But there's also absolutely nooothing I can do about it. LDR is already tough, and I wldnt want my mood/frustration to affect it even more,so when im having a bad day he can calm me and vice versa. Im pretty sure all of us wish their system was set up differently. I myself cant understand why there is such a drastic hold up if all they do is flip thru a file. It's a pity we cant ALL come together and dog them til they're fed up. Why not just let us know where they are truly at? Boggles my mind. Makes me want to throw my phone sometimes too.

Exactly! Just because someone chooses not to show the frustration, anxiety and pessimism, that doesn't mean we don't feel it, believe me. But it's better to try not to focus on that feelings and mutually feed them, because this situation is hard enough as to let a negative environment to make it worse.

Of course everyone has the right to rant and feel miserable, but it won't do any good or make a difference.

And yes, it takes so darn long... Then I rather have them spending 5 extra minutes checking my case to verify things, that rushing and sending an RFE. A 3 years long relationship should be obviously real, but if they need to go through messages or whatever, have them served. That's the reason why some people send tons of evidence... Not even my case.

And keep in mind, K1's are like a 10% (or less) of all the cases they have to work through.

Yeah, I think since Trump their job got a bit more difficult. Maybe they wish the system was different themselves but just like a lot of us, they have their rules and guidelines to abide by. I learnt alot on this site and I just cut down my worry over it. I rather wait now than hurry up n get approved than get administrative processing after the interview, or even denied because one worker slipped on sending an RFE. I'll save my worry for then, and up my optimism. Im surely going to run out that embassy like Rocky after an approval and do the lil jump at the end tho

Just a piece of advice- unless you spoke with a tier 2 officer that looked in your file and saw that you were undergoing background checks, that was probably just a general response and they may have not even touched your case yet.

Don't get so caught up in it just because they said they were doing the background checks.  Take some deep breaths and focus on today and getting prepared for the next steps.

I did speak to a tier 2 who informed me of where my case was.

We have everythinf done. Police and stuff done. Tax and stuff done. He can access my les's so done. I'm on a deadline and everything that we can do is done. So all that I'm focusing on is them sending out noa2 so we can contact Nvc

Still a waiting game for us although I'm very lucky as Matt is coming to the UK in 8 days for a week which is our anniversary and his birthday. Going to be lovely to not spend it alone like Christmas, my birthday etc.

I'm operating on no news is good news at the moment although I don't think I will be quite so laid-back once our estimated time passes.

Let's keep it positive! Every day is one day closer to being with our other half.

My fiance is coming to the UK in 2.5 weeks lol. He will be here when we are meant to get our NOA2 based on the VJ estimate but I'm pretty sure we won't be so laid back either if we don't hear anything that week. Where in the UK are you at?

hello Guys.. just had some question. Also just to take you all away from the waiting game... can somebody help ...

so my situation is:

i am working abroad and not in my home country which we put to have my interview(beneficiary here) .. my worries are, i still have 9months to finish my contract here. So if ever i will have the  noa2, and its 4months validity.. will it be ok for me to pay just the vIsa fee, since it has a 1year Validity..and then continue the next step like medical, and interview after my contract will end??

I hope somebody can understand my ranting... thankYou so Much...

From what I understand you have 4 months to schedule your interview which you would need to have within those 4 months. You need to have your medical prior to the interview. Once you've been approved you then have 6 months to travel, so you could delay it that way but I don't think you can delay it prior to having the interview...

I think you have a bunch of different options:

1- Change your Embassy to the country you are currently living. You need to wait until the NVC stage to do that, after NOA2, though some people said they couldn't manage to do that there because of how short is the time the petition stays at NVC before being sent to the Embassy. But you can still go through the necessary process to get your case transferred from your home country to the one you are living at the time, if you consider that would be better.

2- Plan a trip to your home country for the medical and interview, if that's possible.

3- Follow your option, but make sure you are doing the right thing, but calling/emailing the Embassy and seeing how the extension of the NOA2 works and if you can wait to do everything once you are back.

I guess you will be able to better plan once you get the NOA2 and things start moving again, but good you are planning ahead :)
