Day 17 since rfe paperwork received at USCIS. I broke down and decided to call with the high hopes that maybe I just didn't get a notification. I've received email and texts notifications throughout the process so I guess I've been lucky in that sense! However because of that, my hopes weren't high. I spoke to a tier 2 who asked me a ton of questions before saying the magic words... you've been approved! Approval was last Friday, 14 days from the received date and 170 days from original received date.

Congrats!!! Finally!!!

Huge congratulations. I am glad to hear it. Seems like you and @vcpdragon are both waiting on the same papers. I guess this is a good sign.

Yes, our rfe journey was practically identical. Now it's your turn ;)

The way I found that the embassy received it was going online to the CEAC status tracker and entering my MNL#. It said "Ready", and followed with this:

"Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have received interview scheduling instructions."

I assume they're waiting for the appointment letter from the embassy, or some notification that they are ready for us to schedule with them. I assume we should get a formal notification from the embassy ?

I'm confused.

You're burning daylight.

Manila embassy is like self service.  If you wait for the mail, you are going to be waiting for something that will never come.  The NVC will mail the petitioner a letter, the embassy will send the petitioner an e-mail.  That is it.  After you do the DS-160 and pay the fee and schedule the interview, the embassy will send you another email.  Both e-mails are not worth mentioning.

Consider going it alone from here.  @John & Rose gave you some good sites for info.  Denney Eyberg WIX site is good, but a little dated.  Be sure to use embassy site, as well.

Sigh 150 days today since NOA1.... it's very sad that the 90 day average we used to have is no longer happening for anyone. 150-155 days seems to be the new average

we are on 160 days today

It moves VERY quickly. If your fiance hasn't done so, he needs to get on the ball with getting his immunization records and making sure he's caught up on all his shots so that he doesn't have to pay so much at his medical exam. Make sure he gets all his necessary paperwork starting now and do the same.

Because everything is done online, once you see your case status changes to READY you can start with packet 3 and then packet 4 is done right after and all online.

Basically how fast it goes from here is really on you guys because you get to schedule everything. You don't have to wait on the Embassy.

In the search field on VJ, type FIANCE VISACHECKLIST, and you should find the a pdf. of the Jamaica packet 3 letter. A former member posted on here when she and her fiance went through the process and I believe it in might be pinned in the JA portal.

I was trying to attach it in the post but the file is too big.
