Wow. That really is sobering. I should probably be taking this more seriously -_-. I've never even considered what we would do as a couple if we got denied. He cant live here because hes enlisted atm.

I really hope they can get a good resolution to their story.

I always think of the worst outcome to any outcome first, so my fiance and I are prepared to make a life in Europe if it doesn't work out here..But I hope that it does, but we will see! I know this is not an option for

every couple, and its horrible to think about. :/

They can get married in Vietnam and refile a CR petition.  My guess is the CO believed they were already married so that is an automatic denial.

Of course I don't know them or their situation, but how could a CO get the idea they were already married?

If you look at their profile here, they have some beautiful pictures in formal Vietnamese outfits.  If they included those in their proof of relationship it may be a red flag.  When I saw the pictures the first thing I thought was those were pictures from their wedding.

I've just seen that and it is devastating. I wonder what happened :(

I'm sure others around here are interested to know, since it was Vietnam... Maybe they can get a second interview *wishful thinking*

I will definitely go check that out!  Do you have the quote on who it was?  Maybe I can find out what happened so that I can avoid any mistakes.

I'm hoping for Halloween but any time before Thanksgiving would be ok :)

Have you checked out Norwegian? They seem to do the cheapest flights to the US but unfortunately they don't fly to NC. My plan at the moment would be gatwick to JFK with norwegian for POE and then JFK to Charlotte with American Airlines about 5-6 hours after to give me enough time to go through immigration, eat etc.

Let me know what you end up doing! When are you planning for POE?

I dunno if you've all heard of a company called Sta travel, they do really cheap flights :)

Hey, peeps,

Our interview is October 13th- and I was just talking to a friend who did the K1 Visa a long time ago. She was just emphasizing to me in our phone call that the K1 Visa is not a guarantee- that we could get told No. I started crying on the phone..and the comment really made me feel down. I wonder if there's a percentage chance our Visa will be accepted- and what percent possibility it could get rejected.

These are the traditional engagement clothes of Vietnam.  They should know that in HCMC.  But to be on the safe side, I will be careful what we bring to the interview.

That was just a thought of mine.  They seemed like great people and had a good relationship as far as we can tell online.  It may have been a new CO.  I'm not sure how much they know about the local customs.  Like I said, it was my first thought when I saw their pictures.  We haven't heard anything from them at all.

After an RFE how long should i wait for approval ?

Unfortunately there is no one answer for this. I imagine it depends on a number of things: 1) The officer handling your case 2) What the RFE was for 3) If the RFE reply was sufficient etc etc etc.

For some it is just days after the RFE response is received until NOA2. For many, it takes weeks. And for a select, unlucky few it seems to take months!

This is what I have whitnessed at least. Perhaps others who have dealt with RFEs could chip in on this too ^_^

Good Luck though, I hope it doesnt take long
