Hi all,

 

Can someone please tell me that how can we check that our case is NVC or not after getting NOA2???...I got my NOA2 on 5th September but still my Fiancee havent got any letter over mail or email from NVC regarding the case number. She just got NOA2 letter over mail.

 

Also want to ask that do we get NVC case number by email or not?? I read somewhere that they will only send letter over mail!!

 

And can someone tell me at which number should i call NVC to ask about my case number??

How can be 16 the average for "In Transit", when we've seen so many cases changING from that status to 'Ready' in 1-2 days? 

I guess mail can be slow, but probably that has more to do with the Embassy updating the tracker...

You need to call them, that's the most efficient option, because they don't always send a letter and that can take time anyway, since it's not send until the case leaves NVC.

 

If you call the immigrant line, press 1 for English and then 7 or 5.

Phone (for immigrant visa inquiries only):  
(603) 334-0700. Customer Service Representatives can speak with you Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight EST, excluding holidays.

Thanks for the information...i am planning to call NVC today, but on which number from both should i call...i mean i am not sure whether come under immigrant visa or Non-immigrant visa!!!

K-1 is a non-immigrant visa

I tried calling the NVC and I was immediately disconnected after hearing a recorded message at this number  (603) 334-0700, is there another # that I could try?

You can call any of the two lines I mentioned before. We usually call immigrant though.

Anyway, if you call and it rings once before the recorded message, they will take your call. If it doesn't ring once, hung up and try in a few minutes, because all the lines are busy, so don't waste your time

I think some people did that, yep. The theory says if you do that, they'll reply back to you when the case leaves NVC.

Hopefully someone that did that will chime in.

I just found another post from you with the number so I'll try another number..If not I'll wait until tonight supposedly it's less busy between 9pm-midnight I read.

when you will check case status on ceac website and then, when you will pay visa fee, you will choose " Immigrant "

I just called, and I got through to the NVC on this number (603) 334-0888,  so far nothing is in their system as expected at this point since my NOA2 date was September 19th. The customer service representative was very nice, and said I'm more than welcome to keep trying.

I confess some of my posts need some reading between the lines.  the word AVERAGE was in quotation marks  

VJ statistics page shows average time of NVC to Embassy as 16 days.  Up from 5 back in March......

If you me and most of us are getting 2 and 3 days, then that 16 day average has to come from somewhere, and the way that particular embassy is, well.... it would appear that they are one of the reasons the average is so much higher.  Seems odd how it varies between embassies
