I was one step ahead for once haha! Thanks for your help.

Debating POE being Dublin, Charlotte, Raleigh, Toronto, Boston or JFK at the moment! Good job I have a little bit of time to do some research whilst I wait with NVC :)

Me too! I really want my POE to be Raleigh... but JFK would be ok also. I'm looking at flights atm. I want to do POE in the US, which is why I've ruled out Dublin. I'd be too scared of it delaying me and missing my flight.

What date do you plan for your POE?

I'm hoping for Halloween but any time before Thanksgiving would be ok :)

Have you checked out Norwegian? They seem to do the cheapest flights to the US but unfortunately they don't fly to NC. My plan at the moment would be gatwick to JFK with norwegian for POE and then JFK to Charlotte with American Airlines about 5-6 hours after to give me enough time to go through immigration, eat etc.

Let me know what you end up doing! When are you planning for POE?

Most airlines will check your bags to your final destination (double check with your potential airline). All you'll need to do is connect through US security/ customs and IF there is an issue with the bags, the US officer will let you know. Makes life much easier :)

Unfortunately not the case with the US for some reason.

I found this out the hard way last year.

It seems that the US actually have a law that states any luggage entering the country will have to be re-checked, security checked and put onto your next flight by you if your first entry is not your final destination.

This meant when I flew to NC last year through JFK I had to recheck my luggage. I got super unlucky and had been randomly selected for a manual bag search. This took over an hour. My layover was 45mins down to Raleigh lol. Not fun

Safe to say I layed over in the U.K. from then on.

My plan is 20th November. I actually really like Dulles airport (in my finances home state) so I might see if I can do POE there. Then I'll just book the cheapest flight to NC from there.

Hello and congratulations to everyone who's got their NOA2 and got even further with their journey!

Our NOA2 was 27 April and we still didn't hear back even though cases numbered after us did get their NOA2s...

My question at this point is: Would you guys recommend my fiancé to call a tier2 officer? Those of you guys who did, did you see the beneficial effect on your case?

I'm shying away from doing so in case it may hurt the case and cause further delays?

Any advice is mostly appreciated! Good luck 😊

According to your timeline you are NOA1 of May 1st. So you are just at the start of people getting letters. Should start to see some movement shortly. I would say if your fiance wants to call do so around Wednesday to see about any information. Just get to Tier 2 and ask if background check and other information is done. They can then see if RFE or anything else has been flagged yet or if it is just still pending.

My case has been “in transit” at the NVC since September 8. It has been about two weeks. Is this normal???

Call the NVC they may be done already. Number is generated 10-21 days typically. Can take up to 6 weeks in some cases.
