and so ...

I decided I'd give the ol' telephone approach a try again today around 16:30 .. I called and gave my normal spill about I had received an approval notice, but the app still shows RFE received, told the gentlemen I spoke with that I would like to speak to a tier 2 about it, and in the usual manner they transferred me ... 76 minute call back time. <_< Got the call back, lady picks up the phone and verifies me and says how can I help you, I said, "Well, I am hoping your going to tell me this approval notice I got on my phone is true" wasn't a lie people ... I've gotten approval notices on my phone, they just weren't mine :jest: Anyways ... you can get away with that kind of stuff with a southern dialect ya know,OK OK ... Anyways, She says to me and I quote, " Well let's see here ... I see an order for approval, but until you have the letter in hand you are not approved" "WHAT?!" I said, "Am I approved??" then she said it again, "I see an order for approval but until you have the letter in hand you are not approved" ... I talked with a good friend of mine .. a fellow VJ'r and he thinks its an approval but isn't finished processing yet ... After I have settled down here a bit I think so too, but I am too scared to be happy, and too happy to be scared ...  This is just too much y'all ... :jest: So does anyone really know what's going on here ... order of approval. I mean I guess until the status updates and i have the letter I should manage my emotions and expectations, but it sure beats the pat response of .. we received blah blah blah ... So what do you all think ???

I'm thinking that you ARE approved... they're just not showing their cards yet.  Congratulations!!!!  I'm one among many here who have been pulling and wishing hard for you!!!!  :)

As for the travel ban talk I just saw. I'll just say that I didn't vote for Trump. Never will support that man, ever. I'm gonna put that out there. At the beginning when I applied, I too was freaking out like you were @prince1364. Trump was prepping for the immigration travel ban and even though Indonesia wasn't on the list, I was still worried because my fiancee comes from a predominately Muslim country. In fact she comes from the country with the largest Muslim population in the world. But that didn't help anything. All it did was create additional stress and add to the fear of the unknown that comes with this process. I put my ill feelings toward Trump to the side and looked at the facts. Indonesia wasn't on the list, and then later we found out fiance(e)s are protected. I will not lie it sucks being this close, not knowing what will happen. My fiancee has an interview on Oct. 4, only 12 days away. It would crush both of us if the new ban affects us, but all we can do for now is keep pushing forward and wait to see what happens. I think it's important to note that the family-based visas that were protected last time, that sets a precedent. As @AnJ Co and @LabOz said, we just need to wait and see what happens. Then we can all determine the necessary course of action. Another thing to consider is if the ban will affect future applications only, and applications currently being processed will still be processed (similarly to DACA apps). There is a lot that can happen and there are a lot of scenarios for how it could play out. All we can do is plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Hey guys anyone get there nvc approval? How many days did it take and can u tell us the country.. would hekp my axiety . Thanks lol

If you are referring to approval you may be thinking about Spousal Visa. There is no approval for K-1 regarding NVC. The case just goes there and gets an NVC number. The number will actually start with

3 letters that correspond to what embassy the interview will be held at. It shouldn't matter to much which country as far as the time frame to get the case from NVC to the respective country.

From USCIS after NOA 2 to NVC is currently around 10-21 days. You can play around with the time frames and countries here.

Congrats on your progress

We received our NOA2 on September 20th, we are anxious to move as quickly as possible. What are the next steps to help things go smoothly so that my fiance

do you mean on Spetember?:) is yes, wait for 10-14 days and start calling the nvc on the immigration line  and ask for your nvc case number to track when your docs are at the embassy. Now it's basically some more waiting but much shorter.

Hope you'll get your nvc number as soon as possible :)

yes. (603) 334-0700

then try several options (2, 3, 5, 7)

for example, i got mine on line 7, some get theirs on the 5th or 2nd. but it's better to wait for like 10 days since noa2

Congrats!!  Very happy for U!  U help many with good advice & encouragement (Thanks).

In the meantime, the US Embassy in Ethiopia 🇪🇹 still does NOT have any appointment available (which holds the process to pay app fee & to schedule an appointment).  I'm trying not to complain too much while I can see the end of the tunnel 😀.  Now my full time job (almost) is to check the appointment site for any new appointment slot🤞

Thank you!

Hopefully your hard work checking that site will pay off soon and you'll be able to finally have an interview date :)
