My trip last June, it took me 50 hours one way to get from LA to Manila (3 layovers with one of them being a 20 hour layover in Narita Japan, explored around Tokyo too)

 

why? lol I scrapped up rewards points from a lot of different sources I had

It is a some what lengthy visa application and some of the items may need to be researched if not known off the top of your head.

It can also be a buggy system so when you REALLY need it it might not be up or working properly

Plus the immigrant needs to load their passport style photo digital version so best to get it all done and out off the way.

The confirmation page needs to be printed out with the bar code

Be sure to write down the AA number that it will give you in the beginning as you will need it to get back into the system.

You must enter the account at least every 30 days or the whole application will disappear and you will need to start over again.

We interview on the 6th.  Actually, hoping I catch a really compassionate CO that offers a speedy VOH so I can take her away with me on the return flight.  I'll be staying in Ph for a week. If that doesn't work out, then it looks like she will fly alone.  Her choice as she had the option of accompany her at interview or accompany her on POE.  She hands down chose INTERVIEW!  So in 2 weeks I fly over there again.  She's a real bright, sharp woman with lot's of savvy, so I'm not worried for her traveling alone, just that POE in DFW or SFO or JFK are all very far away and I won't be there with her for the entry.  But yes, It is a long way anyway you go - totally halfway around the world  

accompanied my fiance on Sept12 at the US Manila Embassy. The CO she had was really nice and smiled a lot. He started laughing at the beginning of the interview when he told my fiance to raise her right hand and take a vow because she raised her left hand instead lol. I'm sure your fiance's CO will be good.

 

Her interview appointment was at 8:40am. Got there and checked in at 7:30am and they wouldn't let us inside the main building until 8:40am. Then once inside, we waited at least 2 hours because pre-screening took a long time. We were out by 11:20am.

 

Reason why pre-screening took a while is because I noticed there were a handful of filipino's that did not have enough documents to satisfy the requirements.

Just saw an approval on the app for April 11th, Philippines, from someone with an RFE, and @Chris2870 came immediately to mind. So hoping that was the case...

 

Wishful thinking, because I checked and their date is April 10th actually, but still wishing...

haha.. so cool. Yeah sorry sometimes hard to tell who is kano and who is filipino.

I think the 2nd Philippine person from the app just posted that they were the other to get approved today AND moments ago another RFE for Philippine case  April 11th just approved.

There are at least 3 cases on IGORS list here on VJ who have 4/11 NOA 1 and RFE's so hopefully another member here approved.

Finally got the notification this morning that our case was approved after a week of sending out the RFE response! Thanks to the Lord and thanks to everyone in here who support and pray for every couple!❤❤❤ wishing those who are still waiting to have theirs asap!

Last few trip I doped up on sleeping pills and put on one of those blind folds.

Stewardess said something to me and I went to lift off my blind and knocked a drink she was passing all over the guy next to me...dang...2 hours into a 12 hour flight

I felt so bad. Anyway yes rewards or what ever it takes just get there. 

I normally fly EVA as it can be less of a lay over in Taiwan , the price is normally cheaper out of Seattle AND the flight to Manila is only 2.5 hours or less instead of 4-5 from Japan and Korea.

Well enjoy your trip. Be sure to bring back luggages full of dry or canned foods that you can't get in America easily. Ah you are in Cali so probably plenty of Filipino  asian stores there.
