I'm not sure about checkpoints ( or like in the countries with VWP) but I know UK has USCIS at their location and POE is still the entry in the US.  I recently read on the US Dept State website a caution about flying through or layover in a U.S. Territory (like Guam).  That would use up the K1 and make further destinations in the US null and void..... Ouch

I was in the same situation due to running out of vacation time. She had to choose between interview and POE. She chose POE because flying all the way to Texas alone is daunting to her.

Yeah, she did the CFO already, too.

I bet DFW is a good POE .....  I went thru there last May

Not always. Vancouver Canada has a US immigration checkpoint.  Don't know about other Canadian airports.

Just got our NOA2 approved (NOA1 as of April 24, 2017).  The waiting nightmare is over for us!  Good luck to all the April filers and I sincerely hope your approval is coming any moment now.

Yes true. Dublin is also a POE because of  USA immigration and customs pre-clearance.

The POE would be Vancouver. All major Canadian airports are set up to clear US customs inside of Canada - its very conveinent. Its the exact same process as entering through the US… except you still need to catch another flight!

So yes if you come thru Canada and are pre-cleared there or through the Caribbean, then you should be good.

I've never been through DFW internationally. When I have, it was to Vancouver B.C. and back, and US immigration is in the Vancouver airport. I was asked once coming back if I was a Cowboys fan, and I said absolutely not. He smiled and let me go without any further questions...haha

 

I usually fly from Austin to LAX or SFO when going to PH.  LAX is its own special circus when you arrive at immigration.

I have gone, PDX to Narita to Manila and reverse.  It is nice that I have a direct flight in that way from Portland.
