I do not think (and do not recommend) your fiancé can do the police certificate (and the medical) before you are provided with the NVC case number (and before the  "Ready" status at the NVC tracker).

I also think to get the police certificate they provider request the NVC letter which you will get after the case is ready.  Also, the dare of the certificate may be relevant when presented to the embassy during the interview.

My suggestion is to wait until it is on a "ready" status.  Good Luck !

from the status of READY  to the interview day can be less time than it may take to claim a certificate ... I would not risk ... I refer to professional opinion.

...sometimes Police Certificate is valid for three months, for U.S.consulate,

sometimes a year, depending  of beneficiary's country and country that issued Certificate.

I would also recommend, along with the validity of your certificate and the date of the interview, also calculate the time for reclaiming the certificate again, what if any hurricane harms the delivery of mail ? ... and for interviews you need originals, maybe not for everyone, I do not claim, but for most exactly.

Not even close

There are 98 UNapproved March filers still and 183 UNapproved Aprilties so over 280 cases before May.

Even if half of these unapproved for the last 2 months were actually approved but not updated or the members just vanished or lost their passwords that still leave

140 unapproved cases. Oh there are still Jan and February unapproved as well.  Odd thing is 11 of the last 14 approvals were from April.

Not sure why they are not clearing out the Feb and March. Ok I'm rambling.

Oh no, that's a long wait! :o :o

How did you find out with these update?

.......there are many life situations when you need to request a Police Certificate, for example when you get a new job

sometimes the Ministry of the Interior or their Information Center requires the indication of the purpose of the Police Certificate.

...i have three C. , one of my Certificates contains a record "for granting to institutions of foreign states"

Just got notification of approval on my app for today! Best birthday present ever! And USPS played a cruel joke on me today. Sent me an Informed Delivery notification with no photo and when I checked the mail there was nothing. My sweetie is dancing on a cloud!

You bring up an interesting point that I believe the US State Dept needs to crack down on these quacks.  The purpose of the medical is to identify COMMUNICABLE diseases.  Granted, something like TB or an STD or CRE for example should be identified.  The rest of these AILMENTS are pure bull c rap and I suspect the 'consults' are tied with kick  backs in some manner.  A case of hypertension that was spread person to person has yet to occur, and I surmise it will never happen.

Likewise, I've seen consults for hearing, and the strangest is Goosebumps.

Happy Birthday Gary!!!!!

THIS, LOL

But jokes aside, couldn't agree more with that. Actually, I also had the blood pressure a bit high for my medical. The doctor said he wasn't going to reflect that on the report, because he said it was probably white coat hypertension and also caused from all the stress of the travelling and the process. He still recommended me to keep an eye on that, just in case, but that was it.
