Thank you and Congratulations for your approval (NOA2).  A day closer!!  I have to say I have found this community (online forum) very helpful and a great way to get helpful first hand information.  Many good helpful people here to share what they know.  If we all try to keep our timeline updated and provide whatever obstacle we encounter as much as possible, it may be useful for all of us - at least for some reasonable comparison - as knowledge base.  (I think we need to do that more often and encourage others to do the same  as there are only few people from Ethiopia who participated and updated their timeline).

I totally agree. This forum help me a lot. I keep updating my timeline and i am happy to share what i know(my path). I have question. Can my fiance do police certeficate before getting NVC case number?

Has anyone heard anything about going to the interview without medical being there? Jonathan had medical today and they're holding his medical information because his bp was a little high. Receptionist told him to go to interview anyway even if he can't see his GP in time.

You bring up an interesting point that I believe the US State Dept needs to crack down on these quacks.  The purpose of the medical is to identify COMMUNICABLE diseases.  Granted, something like TB or an STD or CRE for example should be identified.  The rest of these AILMENTS are pure bull c rap and I suspect the 'consults' are tied with kick  backs in some manner.  A case of hypertension that was spread person to person has yet to occur, and I surmise it will never happen.

Likewise, I've seen consults for hearing, and the strangest is Goosebumps.

yes, just he must know about validity of police certificate from his country for U.S. consulate in his country , and p.c. from other countries, too, if he  lived there more than 1 year since 16 y.o....with all names he used .

Hi Krizia! I was wondering what time is it here in the PH when you call the NVC? Thanks! :-)

our attorney always calls NVC after  6:00 pm their time. ... You can  call NVC’s Customer Assistance Center at (603) 334-0700 Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to midnight, Eastern Standard Time.

You also can contact NVC by email using the online public inquiry form at nvc.state.gov/ask

I do not think (and do not recommend) your fiancé can do the police certificate (and the medical) before you are provided with the NVC case number (and before the  "Ready" status at the NVC tracker).

I also think to get the police certificate they provider request the NVC letter which you will get after the case is ready.  Also, the dare of the certificate may be relevant when presented to the embassy during the interview.

My suggestion is to wait until it is on a "ready" status.  Good Luck !

from the status of READY  to the interview day can be less time than it may take to claim a certificate ... I would not risk ... I refer to professional opinion.

...sometimes Police Certificate is valid for three months, for U.S.consulate,

sometimes a year, depending  of beneficiary's country and country that issued Certificate.
