Awe... So sweet!  Other than internet issues, how are you holding up out there in North Florida?  Hope everything is ok!

My house in Oviedo (near Orlando) lost my favorite tree for Christmas decorations, lost part of my fence, tore up the attic vent on top of the house, and did a lot of damage to the screens on my pool enclosure. Aside from the tree it was pretty minor and the tree is more emotional attachment than monetary.

Please forgive my slow response. Comcast internet service is out in Jacksonville for at least a week from Hurricane Irma and my Verizon data connection is taxed for bandwidth as a result. I'm lucky if a web page doesn't take 5 minutes to load.

In addition to the app notification I received an email and text from USCIS. I didn't know it because I was in the process of replacing my iPhone with limited internet (a task no person should have to endure). The funniest part of it is my daughter has been asking me for weeks what I wanted for my birthday and my only request was NOA2. So I'm fighting with the new iPhone and iTunes and decide to connect my iPad through my work phone hotspot and it comes up to my daughter congratulating me. Before I can open an app she sends me a screenshot of the approval. So she actually DID get to give me my desired birthday gift.

I think I'm talking for all the Aprilites when I say no need to apologize. We all know things must be pretty hectic around there "thanks" to Irma, the not so sweet

Actually, I've been missing @AnJ Co's posts lately. I guess he's struggling with the same kind of trouble.

The important thing is you all are safe.

So we are patiently (yeah right) waiting for NVC to receive our case and be assigned a case number. In the last week and a half we have:

  • Sold our house
  • Bought a new house
  • I've given notice on the house I rent here in the UK
  • Got a leaving date for my job (their choice not mine!)
  • NOA2 received!

It's been a very overwhelming time! Very glad to hear that we are seeing more April approvals, I really do recommend anyone still waiting to consider contacting their congress office. We still aren't sure if that was what prompted our approval or if it was just our time. Either way, it felt really nice to think we had the support of someone else to try and get news on our case. We discovered that USCIS are much more likely to give you an answer or call back from Tier 2 when you ask for an update on your congressional inquiry. Just a tip!

We are hoping all being well that our POE is going to be Halloween and my son has already put his order in to Matt for a pokemon costume to go trick or treating in and sweet talked Matt's mum into taking him to Chuck E Cheese for a late birthday party! Let's just hope he can switch on that charm at our interview as well haha

Sure that's moving fast with selling and buying houses! Good to see things are working out great for you all... And sure your son sounds like a charmer, lol

Oviedo... Capital of Asturias, my region :)

Sorry, just digressing here. Glad to hear you are holding up well... Or not too bad, because the emotional attachment really counts too.

Hello. Just quick question.

Whenever we're counting days to call NVC from noa2 notice date do we include weekends?

So our 10th day would be 15th.

I got my CN one week after getting my noa2 hardcopy and 13 days after my approval. All including the weekends. I made my fiance call everyday.

Yeah, it's awful... no one understands how bad it is unless you are going through the process. We are completely helpless and can only hope it happens quick!  Fingers crossed yours comes quick and is fixed quickly as well!

So my fiancé just got off the phone with a Tier 2. He asked all the questions, have our case been assigned to officer, are there any notes, have they done name check etc.. basically the lady (who btw was really helpful) said she could not see this info however she said that she would send an enquiry through to the CSC and that they need to give us an update within 15 days. Have anyone else heard of them doing this?

My fiance called on Wednesday and she got a similar answer. Also conflicting information about the background check was provided at this time. Last week they said it was send on June this week no notes and another day they said it was send on May.

The common information is need to wait until 5 months and they can make a electronic inquire

Oh dear... I give up.. I just told my fiance that I'm starting to feel really tired and deflated with this whole process..They all say different thing.. and it's not hard to be within the normal processing times when they keep changing them.. Basically my fiance said that the lady he spoke to called it an 'electronic inquiry request' and that we will hear something within 15 days. We basically have the same dates so I'm not sure they wouldn't do this in your case. Our case was received on the 24th too, however our notice day was the 3rd May.. can I ask what your last 4 case numbers are?

this Friday is 150 days. So, Friday or Monday will be about 5 months....

Yes this same thing happened to me, I got a nice lady on tier 2 who said she couldn't see my info and entered a service request inquiry when I was at about 5.5 months waiting. Check your case online logging into your uscis and you should now see the ticket number for the open inquiry in your case history. I was approved 2 days after they did the inquiry so the same thing may happen to you. Check your case history for now and verify they entered a ticket number.

so, you need to wait two weeks after the electronic inquire or it ws just two days after the electronic inquire?
