I guess I will have to call back first thing in the morning since they open at 8am. I'm just sick over this, so many delays and disappointments for people. I really expected their estimates to be accurate!

Yes that's what we're doing. I know what you mean, it's hard staying positive when you're approaching 5 months and you have nothing. My lease is coming up in December and I don't even know if I need to renew it or not.. and if I do I'll be liable to pay for 6 months..My fiancé got pretty angry while talking to a tier 2 last week when she told him that we're still within  normal processing times.. which the lady told him is now between 5-8 months! But I'm staying hopeful that we'll hear something next week. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Why is that? Does everyone have to go through AP? so much stress ugh.

Yes I hope the status will change soon. I will call on Friday to get my case number hope by that time it will be available

I don't even know why.  I read on here that NVC randomly picks some cases for administrative processing. However, majority of cases go through NVC rather quickly.

It's pretty crazy, I just received a call from the system about 6:20 pm (in California). I've was on hold for 20 minutes- and I was told the same line about them working on applications from February 1st and that I probably wont have an answer for 45-60 days. Supposedly this was a Tier 2 rep but I suspciously received the same info as a Tier 1 rep gave me. I really don't know what else to do except wait and feel more miserable each day. My poor fiance is in a bad place as well with a bad living and work situation. Working with family and living on family property is not working out since they don't want him to move here. It's quite hostile situation, and I feel totally helpless because there's nothing I can do. He's even been asked to quit and leave! Luckily in France he cannot be fired, or they would have done it. We are simply waiting on NOA2 so that he can quit his job and pack his bags and at least stay in a place near the embassy so that he can prepare to leave.

Why most of the case I've seen late they put it on AP on nvc stage? I wonder what type of BG check they're doing? Are they calling the schools or works or criminal records? of beneficiary? Hahahahaha but you got the case number right and you can track it. When calling them did you follow the date on ur notice (hardcopy) or when the app updates?

They alone know. Maybe thats just what they're saying because they're backed up? Who knows. I have no clue what they asked for, T's the one who called

  •  CSC stage
  • Date sent: 7th April
  • Date received: 11th April
  • NoA date: 15th April
  • NoA hardcopy: 23rd April

  • NoA 2 hardcopy: 5th September

NVC/EMBASSY stage

I really hate how this process is putting your life in limbo with your lease, I'm sure there are many in this situation. I We even planne  our wedding for December 31st and bought plane tickets and we are expected to make final payments and so on, and it's sad that we still have no word on our case. Here month-to-month leases are available in some cases, maybe you can work it out with your property manager. It's such a difficult place to be in. :/ Maybe he spoke with the same Tier 2 rep that I spoke with, is there someone else about Tier 2 that we can speak with? I'm hoping that we both have some news to give us a sense of what to do, this is beyond crazy!

I finally found the courage to ask for a Tier 2 rep and I was transferred and the estimated hold time is 199 minutes (as of 4pm)- which is after 6pm (closing time). I'm hoping that somehow someone will call me back tonight, or perhaps if my place is secure in line for the morning. Does anyone have any idea? I feel beyond low today, and things just not easy for us. :/

I called 8 am PST . Tier 2 called me back in 7 minutes.

Call early

I got a call back after hours and really this Tier 2 person gave me the same language as the Tier 1 person about them still working on applications from February 1st.

Wow! You case was at NVC for 3 weeks.  Did they tell you it was in 'necessary administrative processing' while it was there? Congratulations on it moving. Our case has been there for 15 days and hoping it moves soon.

Thank you @hkiss31 .. No they did not say that .. all they said is that they are working on it and will be forwarded to embassy "soon" (they said that for the last 3 weeks (almost).  Nobody told me it is in administrative processing. If I remember correctly I called NVC about 5 or 6 times including the call to get my case number. At all times they just sounded as if it is in normal processing time. They were all pros doing their job. My guess is that they send packeages to the embassy in batch so may be they were waiting until they got enough to send over (could be a lame guess ;) but who knows  ) ..

Just stay patient and positive and it will be there before u know it.  I wish u all the luck in the  🌎 .. I know how frustrating every waiting time is but we all will get there.

I even checked earlier today right before I got out of work (around 5pm) and it was "At NVC" .. and all of a sudden I just checked it while talking to my fiancé over the phone and made my night with that "in transit" update.  Stay positive and be patient.  #LoveWins

Just a quick update on our case:

Today is the first day of our VJ timeline estimate!!! So that's very exciting, but it's making me antsier than ever for progress! I called USCIS yesterday and spoke to a Tier 2. He said that they had already done a background check and name check. I don't know if that might mean we're getting closer? But he also said an officer had been assigned to my case when it was first received at the service center. If that's the case, that's a bit scary, because that would leave a lot of time for variability between a slow and fast adjudicator.

Anyway, I'm really hoping that the VJ estimate is correct and we get approved in the next few days (although the way the case updates are going, we could possibly not know we had been approved until a week after the fact). I'm hoping I wasn't being overly optimistic in my expectations about when he would be able to enter the country - we were planning on having a Halloween party (partially to celebrate the ending of long distance) and we have tickets to a show on November 2nd! Not to mention I will just be very sad if we have to wait any longer than that to be together.

Met on 15th of October, 2014 - started dating soon after

Became separated by the Atlantic Ocean on the 11th of July, 2015

Lots of Skype, visits, and love later...
