Question for those who have done it:

I'm looking into congressional inquiries in case it comes to that. I've looked on my congresswoman's website and on her privacy release form there's a space to explain what the situation is, and there's an email address to send the form to. Do you think it would be okay to email the form in and let it speak for itself, or would you also call the office?

Thank you all!

I wrote a very brief explanation saying that we sent a I-129f petition in April as part of a k1 and k2 visa process and to date we have been unable to check on the progress due to the case tracker not updating and not being able to speak to a tier 2 representative with a direct view of my case.

Hope that helps

Good advice, if you have to resort to an inquiry, at least write to them requesting what you want them to do for you.  If not, they very well may just look up your case on the website and tell you what you are already reading for yourself.

Since a congressional is like a One Shot deal, I don't think you should do that until you can show you have been left behind.  Currently it is at least 5 months waiting since NOA1.  But when you do request help....

My advice is to pull out your best effort and put it forward.  You are going to need to contact them for the privacy release form, and ask them for the manner they would like it back (fax, email, mailed, etc).  Send them an explanation why your requesting the inquiry.  Print off the page that says uscis processes cases in order, print off some similar timelines as yours that are approved, then print off some after your date that are approved and include them as well.  Send your NOA1 also,  Specifically state that you have been backlogged and request to be reinstated into que.  If you are just asking the status of your case, that's all they will get for you, and your response will most likely be 'In Processing'.

Congressionals are slow moving.  Essentially they will have to give uscis 30 days to reply to the politician.  Further delaying the process is just getting your info to the politician's office and getting it assigned to a caseworker (sometimes a delay of 3 weeks as reported by other vj members).  In the meantime, don't give up calling tier 2 at least once a week - I think that keeps the pressure on, as well.

Good luck to you :D

Used to be a series of commercials in America, some guy would solve a major disaster or crises and come to find out, he was so smart, he stayed in a 'Holiday Inn Express Last Night'.  Became a saying here LOL

Does anyone get approved or got an RFE yesterday if yes then does it updated on USCIS tracker app or USCIS website. The reason why i am asking because my status hasn't been updated and it still says application was received.

Thank you so much! This is very helpful information! I specifically appreciate the part about not just asking for the status of my case, since that's probably how I would have worded it, and it's surely the unhelpful response I would have gotten in return. All those suggestions on what to include are also incredibly useful and I'm sure I will get a much better response with the help of this info :jest:

You're welcome.  Remember to be really patient with those helping you.  After all, they are federal employees too.  Where you and I talk in 'days', they work in 30 and 45 day cycles.  It takes a bit of patience :D
