Wait I'm worried now... I have a pre-booked 2 week holiday for Halloween to see my fiance (I think we'd have been approved by then) ;_; I always dread customs as I feel like they're going to just not let me in after I've travelled so far and I hate it :c Can you give me some more tips on how to make sure things go smoothly?

I travelled to the US at the end of May so about a month after we had filed and gotten the NOA1 and I was super stressed out but it went completely fine.  But I know Logan asked a lawyer for some advised before he filed and he said he wouldn't advise it after it had reached the embassy... I really want to go and see him for his birthday but not sure if it's a good idea or not. Probably best to do what @Estibaliz said and check forums where people have done it.

Yep, I wasn't trying to worry anyone, but maybe the opposite. It seems to me there was kind of an old myth about how you couldn't go and visit, but that was proved to be wrong.

Unfortunately I don't have first hand experience on the topic, so that's why I try to be cautious. But take a look to this thread. Last post in the page and some in the previous one... And I just checked a couple pages :) Well, not sure it's showing the page I wanted (102 and 101) :bonk:

Thanks @LabOz for the link . At this point i am not sure really why did that, matter of the fact i submitted lots of evidence to them ,our engagement pics, our chat details ,call details, airline tickets ,receipt for ring we bought for our engagement .I am not sure what else evidence they need ,i guess i have to wait until i get the letter to understand why they did so.

Has the case tracker on the app or USCIS on-line updated regarding this?

Slight chance that they gave you wrong info.

I would call again next week Wednesday or so if you haven't heard anything.

I talked to tier 2 regarding and issue and they completely messed up the written response.

They have thousands of cases. Maybe they were looking at the wrong file or case.

How long have you know each other and how many times did you 2 visit each other?

What the heck is happening at NVC??  It has been 25 days since NOA2 and my case is still "At NVC".   Is this normal?  I'm not complaining but curious if there is anything I should do to make them transfer to the embassy.

Does anyone know if it's risky to visit the US after getting the NOA2 or even after NVC? I might try to go over mid October cos it's my fiancée's birthday and he'll be in NY which is so easy to get to from London and hopefully by mid October we've had our NOA2 come through ... but I'm not sure if it's advisable?

I travelled once after my NOA2 and I had my NVC number (they emailed my fiance), but it was still in transit to the embassy at the time of my trip.

I brought a letter from my job saying when I was due to return, a copy of my itinerary which showed my return flight, a copy of my NOA2 and the email from the NVC and I highlighted where it said my embassy was Montreal.  I think I brought the first page printout of my DS160 too.  I pretty much just grabbed anything that showed I was immigrating legally.

When going through customs I told him I was going to visit my fiance and that we were going through the K1 visa process.  I can't remember if I told him about the paperwork or if he asked for it first, but either way, he did look at the NOA2.  I also mentioned that I HAD to go back to Canada for my interview.  If you have an interview booked, I would bring a printout of that as proof too.

Maybe they put your case on administrative processing, like @Jeff and Alina's? Hate when that happens
