Do k1 applicants have to follow the 6 NVC steps? Can we start the DS160 before the case goes to the embassy? Or should we wait?

Technically you could start the DS-160 even before you filed the I-129F.

I have not heard of any 6 NVC steps might be for CR-1 Spousal Visa

It does NOT ask for your WAC number or your NVC number.

It's the government so they need to give you a 3rd number an A# which is generated when you create the DS-160.

Just be sure to log in every 30 days or until you have completed the application otherwise the data will be lost.

The beneficiary needs to load a digital photo of themselves as well.

Ours is complete and confirmation page has been printed out.

Day 127 here and expecting at least another 30 day way before NOA 2.

I started filling my DS-160 and It asked me for my WAC number.. right after they asked for  purpose of trip (I chose Fiance K1) and then it asked for the Application Receipt/Petition Number...

Is this country specific?:o it shouldn't be..

Live, love, laugh.. and try not to think too much about USCIS

She does NOT schedule interview on the DS-160 that is a separate process.

No penalty for waiting other than TIME.

There is enough other things to do after NOA 2 that DS-160 can be gotten out of the way the sooner the better.

Good luck

Hi krizia! Very nice to meet you. A big congratulations to you! I can't imagine how happy you are right now. How long have you waited? Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. Me and my fiance are going through the same thing. Almost about to give up! But I hope and pray to get it this week. Thanks again.

Sorry I stand corrected. I looked at it again you do need your WAC number but not the NVC number.

You don't have your WAC number yet which is on your NOA 1?
