OH MY GOSH. I don't mean to sound like a prepubescent teenage girl, but every time I come on VisaJourney, something wonderful happens. Just roughly 10 minutes ago, 12:36 am EST time, me and my fiancee discovered the email for packet 4. We literally just sent packet 3 back to the consulate on the 5th. Only a day and a half and we got packet 4. This is so exciting, and I can barely breathe. This is getting so real for me. I just wanna say how wonderful this is and for those who haven't reached this stage yet, just know that your turn is coming very shortly and when it does, the feeling is the best feeling in the world. I can definitely say that. I don't mean to sound like a braggart, but I just enjoy sharing my journey with all of you and like to hear the same from all of you other wonderful people here. This journey has been filled with a lot of stress, but it has made me a stronger person. I felt broken through most of this since we haven't seen eachother since December. It's been difficult, but each little milestone really gives you something to look forward to. To think shortly this will all be over and he'll be here in the states with me, is the best feeling ever.

We just tried to schedule the medical appointment by phone with Sydney at George St Medical Center, apparently they don't do medicals for visa's anymore? Also, another one on the list on VJ with Surry Hills has an invalid number....? Does anyone know the closest place near NSW that does medicals, excluding these two? They were the best ones.

Unfortunately, I made a mistake which is why I should refrain from commenting.

I should have said that sometimes it is asked for at the medical (Manila).  An interview appointment confirmation or a screenshot of the nvc number suffices if requested.

oh, well ... for the medical really different moments ... in Moscow we should first make ( online)  an appointment for interview , get a confirmation online form from the embassy, print it out, and this form of confirmation  we must bring for interview,.... after confirmation of interview we can make an appointment for a medical exam...on a medical exam, we just say them the NVC # ... they write it down somewhere in Medical form/s, when we paying for medical and getting some forms for exam.

An interesting point is that we pay and receive forms in one place in Moscow, then we have to go by subway to the center of Moscow, to Alexandrovsky Garden station , and pass medical exam almost in the Kremlin itself)),in Polyclinic Management of Affairs of the President of the Russian Federation.

This reminds me to tell you all to be careful with that. Although my Embassy's website also says you need the police certificate for all the countries where you have lived for over a year, instructions in packet 3 actually says you need them for all countries where you have lived over 6 months.

Just something to keep in mind, in case you can be affected by this difference, to maybe ask and clarify to plan ahead.

Packet 3 with the Sydney Consulate is a few things you provide them. They asked for the name, case number from NVC, email address, online non-immigrant visa application (DS-160) confirmation number, and a receipt of the MRV fee. That's it. I believe Packet 4 is the interview being scheduled and all that jazz! I know if you go to the portal, they give you the exact information they email you. I know that on Sydney's portal on VisaJourney, it shows the exact information they sent me, so everything seems to be pretty accurate. Hopefully, the medical around almost $400 is accurate as well. :) Expensive, but not as expensive as AOS and other stuff.

$ 400, wow.. maybe you have to get a vaccinations ? ... our cannot be more than $ 246  ... before was $ 235 , they did it more in 2016

Hi guys, hoping someone can help because I'm kind of freaking out a bit now... So for the police report, someone said you have to use all names that you've ever been know by..

So basically here's the story. when i was married to my ex I never "officially" changed my surname because I'm not even sure how you go about that in the UK. the only place I changed my surname was with my bank where I changed the name on my account to his surname..

..now when we did the I-129f I asked my finacee if I should mention my ex's surname where it asks have you been known by any other names and he said yes, so we did, but now I'm freaking out about this police report because surely it will only show my maiden name purely because I never changed my name? I never had to change it through a deed poll and the way I changed my surname back on my bank account was by simply showing them my divorcee decree... I'm not sure how I would ever get a police report showing both names when I was never really officially known by it, however it is mentioned in the application...fml..

Great news. His interview is September 26th at 8:30 am at Sydney Consulate. They explained everything on the phone to him and were super friendly. I'm pretty at ease now after hearing the conversation on speaker with the woman. It sounds pretty explanatory. He booked a 2 day stay hotel on the same street to make it even easier for us. I'm so excited. :) The medical is September 14th, so he's leaving on the 12th since he's taking Trainlink to get there. Pretty affordable transportation. So all in all, medical is the 14th and interview is the 26th. If approved, I can see him having his visa by the beginning of October and since he has nothing keeping him in Australia, as soon as the visa is issued, he's booking his flight. Glad this is all figured out and now I get to anticipate this as well as be extremely nervous for him. Such a long process, but all so worth it now that were literally coming to the finish line. They told us the medical was roughly $500 AUS, plus he only needs the Varicella vaccination and they said they do it on the phone. They said for him to bring all of his vaccination records, passport, drink plenty of water, and laid everything out in detail on the phone. I think interview is my only worry as it stands. Probably worry a bit on his transportation, since I always worry about his safety (OCD and anxiety), but I think that's a given with all of us in LDR's. I'm just happy that everything is more simplified and all we have to do is organize our checklist. Plus, what better than it being September, and next month October. These have got to be two of my favorite months. Autumn is truly wonderful.

They said it was gonna be about $500, not including the Varicella vaccination. From what I can see, different countries and different locations have different prices... unfortunately. I wish it was a set price and that low. You're super lucky.

This process is so stressful, that it is normal to be freaking out about that kind of things.

I'm not sure how things work there regarding police certificates, but I'm wondering if you could get some kind of related document there, or even from the Civil Records, stating you never officially changed your name, so there's no police reports, or any kind of records actually, under that other name.

The fact you mentioned your ex's surname in the petition shouldn't be that big of a problem. When you fill out any official form, there's always the implicit agreement that you are doing so 'to the best of your knowledge and ability'. I think you could explain the misunderstanding and it shouldn't really be binding.

Of course, this is just my logical thinking (that sometimes fails) and maybe wishful thinking...
