hello I had the same dilemma. we were about to give up and I was about to just forget about the process and accepted that we are long distance couple forever. but I didn't stop praying my friends helped me get through depression and my fiancé didn't give up on me. Now we got noa2 yesterday all those pains and fight is worth it now. I am hoping you will get yours  too along with the other who are waiting. we all just want this waiting to end and it feels endless but cheer up. because this will not be for so long maybe today tomorrow or the next day all of you will get approved. it takes time yess. mine is 141 I guess. ugh its hard. I really hope

Thank you for sharing your story... I'll admit when I started reading it, I had to check to see if my fiancee had written it.  I think that most, if not all of us, go or are still going through the very same experience.  This is incredibly hard to do.  Congratulations to you for getting your NOA2 and I hope that everything is downhill (in a very good way) for you from now on...

Hi everyone, we don't post on here but we've been following the thread since we got our NOA1. Anyway, we got our NOA2 notification by text & email this afternoon! Tahreem is currently visiting me for a week so hopefully we get the hard copy in the mail while she's still here .

Hey all April filer here!  140 days and counting with no NOA2 response yet.  I tried calling USCIS today and got the same "We're through February" response that others have gotten.  

 

Trying to keep the stress at a manageable level.

Hello Everyone,

     We have been lurking on here since April but never posted before.  We just hit 140 days and we still don't have our NOA2.  I called USCIS yesterday and was given a call back this morning.  The tier 1 was very friendly but gave me the same scripted answer that is standard.  The tier 2 did pretty much the same thing.  I had to pry just to find out if we were assigned to an officer.  The answer I received was that we have been assigned to an officer since May.  We're hoping to hear something soon.  This waiting is getting old fast.

So check this out....  We got our RFE in the mail yesterday and as I mentioned in an earlier post, they requested additional proof of us meeting in person prior to applying.  We submitted what I thought was a substantial amount of info in our original application, but apparently not.  The biggest problem I had is that I didn't save my used tickets and I didn't have the paper copy of my "passport" that you receive when you enter a country through the automated kiosk which means they don't stamp your passport.  It sucks because I didn't know I would need that stuff until after we started the process, but I provided as much as I could (photos, receipts, letters from the airlines, blah, blah. blah) but I was missing the golden tickets... passport stamps and/or paper receipts.  I literally spent the entire afternoon calling pretty much every department in the US & Jamaican governments yesterday... Border Patrol, TSA, Passport office, Homeland Security, PICA, two Jamaican Consulates... guess where I was ultimately directed... USCIS!  So this morning I took a deep breath and called.  Disclaimer!  I called USCIS one other time and my experience was much better than most so I can't complain.  However, I was prepared for the worst since I got off easy the first time   The first person I spoke with was very nice and I requested to speak to a Tier 2 officer and they obliged without any hesitation.  I was transferred and told I would get a call back in 47 minutes.  It was a smidge more than that, but I'll take it!  The guy I spoke with, Officer Edwards, was sooo nice!  He had a somewhat thick accent (I'm thinking possibly Haitian but I didn't ask) which lead me to believe that at some point in his life he has gone through some sort of immigration process.  I told him my dilemma and asked if he had any suggestions of additional evidence I could send.  I told him what we already sent and what I was planning on sending.  He said to me... "To be honest, everyone reviews the files differently.  If I would have reviewed this file I would have approved it"  I almost fell out of my chair!  I laughed and asked him if he could write a note and put it in my file and he laughed as well.  Then I asked if the file is going to go back to the same person to finish the review and he said yes.  Now I'm nervous!  We sent about 25 pages of additional documentation today so I just hope it works.  We met in person twice before we got engaged and although that isn't many times, I know it's more than some.  With that said, I hope anyone that calls the USCIS has the joy of speaking to Officer Edwards!  He was so nice!

Packet 3 with the Sydney Consulate is a few things you provide them. They asked for the name, case number from NVC, email address, online non-immigrant visa application (DS-160) confirmation number, and a receipt of the MRV fee. That's it. I believe Packet 4 is the interview being scheduled and all that jazz! I know if you go to the portal, they give you the exact information they email you. I know that on Sydney's portal on VisaJourney, it shows the exact information they sent me, so everything seems to be pretty accurate. Hopefully, the medical around almost $400 is accurate as well. Expensive, but not as expensive as AOS and other stuff.

I just realized you're in Ghana though, so it's probably going to be a bit different.

OH MY GOSH. I don't mean to sound like a prepubescent teenage girl, but every time I come on VisaJourney, something wonderful happens. Just roughly 10 minutes ago, 12:36 am EST time, me and my fiancee discovered the email for packet 4. We literally just sent packet 3 back to the consulate on the 5th. Only a day and a half and we got packet 4. This is so exciting, and I can barely breathe. This is getting so real for me. I just wanna say how wonderful this is and for those who haven't reached this stage yet, just know that your turn is coming very shortly and when it does, the feeling is the best feeling in the world. I can definitely say that. I don't mean to sound like a braggart, but I just enjoy sharing my journey with all of you and like to hear the same from all of you other wonderful people here. This journey has been filled with a lot of stress, but it has made me a stronger person. I felt broken through most of this since we haven't seen eachother since December. It's been difficult, but each little milestone really gives you something to look forward to. To think shortly this will all be over and he'll be here in the states with me, is the best feeling ever.
