You know, it might be that I'm being thick here, but what I understood when I read the article is you can't leave the States until your AP is approved (4 months or whatever is the new average)... Wasn't that how it has always worked?

Sorry, a bit confused

It used to be if you had submitted one it wouldn't be such a big thing if you went before it was fully approved.

I'm pretty sure you are right.  From what I understand, they might have been a bit lax with those who have a different type of visa if they needed to travel for business (after applying for AP but before being approved), but now they are being strict and will deny your AP if you travel without having it fully approved.  For us it's the same - don't leave the country without having your AP.   The article just mentions it affecting businesses (who need their employees to do international travel).

The same with k-1's. There was a bit of leeway.

Thanks for the clarification! The best thing to do is not take chances and wait for approval before traveling. I would be scared for my fiance to travel before approval even if there was some leeway! lol!

Today marks our 150th day waiting since our received date. April 6. I don't know what kind of waiting I need to do now. I let my fiance go home to his hometown to spend time with his family, it could help with our stress. I got sick though. Until now. I don't know what's worse. Gosh.

If it makes you feel any better we are at 140 days. I'm sure it is just around the corner..

Happy Sunday morning to all.  @Sallysyrup, the waiting is hard, but it will all be worth it.

Today/Yesterday is/was Monica's Birthday.  I just wish that I could be with her.  That makes it hard, that and the length of time it has been since we saw each other.

Happy birthday to my kabayan Monica. You might never know you might have a surprise birthday gift for her in the mailbox tomorrow. My mom in law has been praying for our approval and wishing  that as gift for her and so prayers granted we actually received our approval a day after her birthday 😊. So to you and @Sallysyrup  I know this might seem to be a broken record but hang in there. It will soon come.

Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday too and yesterday we had a party for her. It was so nice to see my friends and relatives. Since this is gonna be her last birthday here so I decided to give her a big party since I know the adjustment in another country will weigh more on her as a kid so atleast she gets to enjoy her birthday with her friends and classmates too

Okay I'm panicking...my fiancé haven't receive the letter that describes our RFE..it was mailed out on 08-28..how many days does it take to mail it in the Midwest area?..as for what I know USPS can take 7-10 bds max TAT worst case scenario--take note worst case scenario and 3-5 bds min TAT..or KS was just transferred to another country and I didn't know about the news?! Sorry for the rant here but I needed to..

Hi Faye! Sorry i just read your post I haven't been online the last couple of days busy with Aira's birthday. Estibaliz is right it is usually 7 days to receive and again she's right with the holiday it might be delayed one more day. So your mail is definitely on its way there just have a little more patience. Be still knowing that your case has been touched and you will get the approval after you fix the rfe😊

Ugh... I just came back from dropping my daughter off from school..It's her first day and Im dealing with mixed emotions. She cried (mommy's girl) and I had to fight my tears and the urge to pick her up n take her back home with me...but half hour after I called and the teacher told me she's doing great :)

When you need that shoulder to lean on but that shoulder is thousands of miles away so you have to settle for a digital shoulder....Anywho!!!.

Have a good day guys, enjoy the holiday. I guess its a holiday for us all, cuz if they're off, we're off,so no news, lol.
