Hi all,

I found this link on VJ to a Q and A with a former adjudicator. Hopefully this will help everyone better understand the process. I found it very insightful with lots of information about what goes on at USCIS.

well me. We've done all of this and we might get two weeks before we are separated again.

You know, it might be that I'm being thick here, but what I understood when I read the article is you can't leave the States until your AP is approved (4 months or whatever is the new average)... Wasn't that how it has always worked?

Sorry, a bit confused

Thank you for reposting this very helpful link.  I originally posted this last Friday when my mom sent me the link, but it's buried and gone.  Reading and understanding what goes on behind the scenes has calmed my anxieties.  Knowing that the adjudicators in different cubes aren't just working on I-129f's but on thousands of other forms has made me more patient for my turn. Especially now with all the "Dreamers" getting threatened to be thrown out of the country and all of the evidence they have to provide with their applications, I can imagine the headaches the adjudicators have.

I also like the tips on the "Congressionals" where a response from any federal agency must be made to the local congressperson within 48? hours.  But hopefully, I do not want to have to utilize this last resort.

So again for my co-Aprilites that haven't gotten their NOA2's fingers crossed and continue to hang in there! For all of you that have gotten over the NOA2 obstacle CONGRATULATIONS!!! and best wishes for whats ahead :)

I'm pretty sure you are right.  From what I understand, they might have been a bit lax with those who have a different type of visa if they needed to travel for business (after applying for AP but before being approved), but now they are being strict and will deny your AP if you travel without having it fully approved.  For us it's the same - don't leave the country without having your AP.   The article just mentions it affecting businesses (who need their employees to do international travel).

Good to know! I admit I hadn't fully read the article, just the parts that look more relevant :P

I guess it might make some kind of sense for work visas to be a bit lax, but yep, it's the law, so I guess businesses will have to plan ahead better.

No Problem. I'm glad that 2007 adjudicator HUSKERKIEV'S interview is being shared. 😀

These threads go along so fast that I've been browsing the pages backwards from most recent to previous.

Today marks our 150th day waiting since our received date. April 6. I don't know what kind of waiting I need to do now. I let my fiance go home to his hometown to spend time with his family, it could help with our stress. I got sick though. Until now. I don't know what's worse. Gosh.

Happy Sunday morning to all.  @Sallysyrup, the waiting is hard, but it will all be worth it.

Today/Yesterday is/was Monica's Birthday.  I just wish that I could be with her.  That makes it hard, that and the length of time it has been since we saw each other.

I know exactly how you feel!  I haven't seen my love since February.  I hope she is here for her birthday on 12/1 though.  I'm still planning on taking some vacation in October just because I miss her so much.  I hope for a quick resolution to your RFE my friend.  I pray for all the other Aprilites to be with their loved ones soon.

Same feeling here, too.  Just finished talking on Skype with my fiancee about my upcoming birthday on the 14th... we haven't seen each other in just over a year now and this will be my first birthday in 3 years that we're not together to celebrate it... and this one's a BIG one!  LOL... trying to gauge this unpredictable process to determine whether I should go see her or if everything might fall into place soon.  So frustrating!  Weighing remaining vacation time, travel costs against being with the one you love should never be something that anyone needs to think about...

Happy Birthday to Monica :)

I know this is just mere speculation, but I don't think it's going to be much more than a couple of months until the process is over for you.

Gary's birthday is the 15th too. Funny enough, we've never been together for his birthday, though that's been the case for my last three birthdays... It feels good to know that's the last birthday we are going to be apart. So I'm just hoping to have a date for the end of this process as this year's gift :)

Update!

So I got my NOA2 hardcopy today. Snail mail was more like a rabbit. It was postmarked Aug 30, and I got it today (Sep 3) on the east coast. Anyways, the approval date was Aug 29. So in my case the congressional inquiry did not do anything to expedite my case. It was filed a day after my approval! I do think USCIS updated the tracker because of it though.

Hopefully that's some positive news for those still waiting.

You got mail on a Sunday
