Not an April filer but would like to wish everyone luck :)

When you receive your NoA1, check all the details listed of the petitioner and beneficiary. Contact USCIS if there are any mistakes for the names, dates of birth etc. USCIS has a e-Request portal here https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

After receiving your NoA1 hardcopy, don't forget to update your VJ timeline. Refer to the hardcopy's notice date.

For your information, all I-129F submissions are sent to CSC now so your service center should be updated as CSC on your timeline. Your NoA1 will bear a WAC receipt number. If your case is transferred out of CSC later, you will then receive a new and subsequent notice (not the NoA1) stating where it is transferred to.

Consider signing up for a myUSCIS account here https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do. This page is useful when you want to check your case status. However, there's not much to see at the NoA1 stage as there won't be any updates until they start adjudicating it. At NoA1 stage, it just tells you the same thing as the text, e-mail and hardcopy. But if your case is transferred out, there would obviously be an update online (corresponding with the new notice) in between the NoA1 and NoA2.

While waiting for your NoA2, refer to the VJ guide http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide to find out what documentation you need to prepare for the K-1 stage.

Always refer to the official websites to download or complete the latest forms as well as to find out about the fees.

USCIS forms: https://www.uscis.gov/forms

USCIS fee schedule: https://www.uscis.gov/g-1055

DS-160: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

Best of luck and congratulations in advance on your NoA1 and subsequently, your NoA2.

Hi. This is actually the first time i'll post here. Was more of a reader trying to get information as I could and now that i was reading thru the timelines. I was wondering and got a little worried, should there have to be a hard copy of the NOA1? I dont think that my fiance has mentioned he received a hard copy, its just email and text. I hope you or anybody can enlighten me on this. Thanks so much in advance

Hi :)

Yes you should have received a hard copy of your NOA1 in the mail. Usually you receive this about a week or so after your e-mail and text notification and it should also tell you that in the e-mail notification that you received.

Relax :)

Yes, you should have received your NOA1 hardcopy, but it's not a vital document, since you are not going to need it for anything. It's the NOA2 the one you have to ensure to have a physical copy of, because that's required later on for AOS.

If you still would feel more comfortable with a hardcopy of your NOA1, you can contact USCIS and request one here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do;jsessionid=abczm7ot5ZLAk-IJSxpZv?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=ndn

You can also call them to make sure they have the right address, though they should since that was stated on the i-129F form.

As I said, nothing to worry. You'll have more than enough time to stress out along this process

Welcome! And remember to fill your timeline... because I'm assuming you are an April filer, but not even sure :P

Thank you so much for the reassurance :-) I was somehow also thinking that since we have the email/text confirmation of our NOA1 it is enough but since browsing thru timelines and reading all those hard copy received i started to worry and so i am relieved to read your comment. And yes I am an April 2017 filer. Guess getting more on the nerve now that june is almost over and our awaited month is so near :-). I actually followed your timeline since we are almost the same. We received email/text confirmation April 11 :-)

Yep, I noticed I have a new stalker :P

You are more than welcome to follow, of course, since yep, my notice date is also 11th April (received date 6th April).

It seems we still have to wait a few weeks to start having movement around here but... it's getting closer! Which also means anxiety levels are about to go up, but oh well... It's worth it :)

Yes, your fiance should have received a hardcopy NOA1. If he didn't, he'd need to either call USCIS or submit an e-Request https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do;jsessionid=abcLMJWr4UERh_TsAZpZv?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=ndn.

Good luck! :)

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

I don't have to worry at all! My fiance just replied to me that we actually have a hard copy😊😁. He forgot to mention and I forget to ask before. I guess I was just maybe too anxious now that I tend to worry on everything. Anyway thank you so much guys for the effort on answering all my questions. Good luck to all of us 😆

Well, since you two are together right now, what you can do is saving receipts from things you are doing and back it up with pictures. You can also ask some friend to write an statement or something. I'm not sure about your Embassy, but here it seems they don't care much about proof of ongoing relationship once you get to the interview stage, so it seems the key part regarding that is USCIS and what you send with the i129f petition. We sent only 12-14 pictures since they say those are secondary evidence, and around 30-40 FB screenshots plus, I don't know, like 15 emails, including some from his mom to me. We didn't go crazy here... :P

I'm hoping to be able to move there mid end October the latest, but who knows. Wedding will be just going to court, maybe with his parents and some friends from work, but we'll see (our motto, yay 😂).

My fiance and I met in 2013 through FB. Started to talk more frequently 3 years ago roughly and have been 'together' since end August 2014. We met in person first time in Vegas, February 2015 for a two weeks vacation. Then it came the hardest time, with a ten months separation. After that I visited for 2 months early 2016 and we decided we wanted to be together for good. That's when I found out about the K1 visa and we knew that's what we wanted to do... But we couldn't because his divorce was going nowhere. He came visit in July for one week only, because he was starting a new job and was now or never... And I definitely wanted my family to meet him since we were planning on getting married in the future... Whenever that was :(

I went to visit again for three months early this year... And in February we got the good news the divorce was final... Finally! So yep, time to go through this K1 nightmare... Nothing compared to all we have had to endure already, but still annoying :)

Hey I'm sorry for the late reply, i thought i replied. Thats a sweet I really hope your out there too in October. Have my fingers crossed for you! None of my family or friends are going to be able to come to our wedding, yet my mother in law wants a huge wedding lol

I just cant wait to be there, in an apartment with just him and our dog and no more stressing over visas/ immigration etc. lol

Don't worry, no rush :)

And yep, we adopted a cat in February, so I'm missing my two boys :(

I know there will be some more stress with getting things ready for daily life and AOS... But just the fact we can be together will make it much more easy, no doubt

I'll cross my fingers for you too and everyone here. If it doesn't work, keep in mind that's not me, just probability :P
