ALSO   What are the holidays in PHP in October that USEM will be closed?

Thanx!!!!

For the intrerviews I'm not sure if its Monday - Friday. Maybe someone who has done or scheduled an interview already can help with this.

I have the same dates as you and I feel the same! The tier 2 officer that I reached just told me that I'm in normal processing time repeatedly and would not give me any updates. Informed delivery is great but checking it actually ruins my day because I don't see anything in the mail.

The only thing that been keeping me from going crazy is how busy work has been but I'm getting to the point where I would really love to have my fiance here to help me cope with the work stress. I think I'm honestly beyond depressed at this point for lack of progress :( I guess my next step is to write a letter to my senator but I wonder if I should save that for later "just in case".

It's up to you really. I quoted another post, but will say it again to this one too. Perhaps people still waiting in and around our dates within a few days give or take have all been assigned the slow adjudicator and others have already moved past cases with similar dates because they have a faster person working on their cases.

I don't know how USCIS views the congressional inquiries, but I would assume they take them seriously and don't shrug them off. Which leads me to think that if we did have the same adjudicator, and it's clear that they're moving at a much slower pace than the others, perhaps a congressional inquiry or two might actually do something to speed things up, but that's just a guess and there is no way to truly know what is going on there unless someone wants to start working there and fill us all in on the inner-workings of the CSC:jest:

I'm actually the exact opposite. I'm pretty busy at work but am having difficulties concentrating because this is consuming a lot of my thoughts, trying to figure out and plan things. My fiancee is required by law to give a month's notice in Indonesia, so it would be nice to know something so she can finally put in her resignation letter. I'm also worried at this point that the forms and evidence I've started preparing for the embassy interview will be considered out of date if it takes any longer. My biggest concern, though, is the holiday weekend slowing things down even more than they already are. Who knows what adjudicators will be out on vacation or clocking out early on Friday to get a head start on celebrating the holiday weekend.

Sorry I did not clarify - yes the alien number is used for green card.  USCIS assigns A number, and they use this number to track beneficiary.  USCIS also issues green cards.

However, SSN is not the same number.

I wonder if a lot of us who are still waiting have the same adjudicator and it's the slow one, which is why it seems like a lot of people around us with the same (or within a few days) dates are already moving on, but we feel like we're being left behind.

I'm getting the sense that an RFE puts your application on a slow track, causing you to lose at least a few weeks or a month from how it would otherwise be processed. Maybe not, but sure seems that way based on those with similar dates.

Yes and no,  getting the RFE shows that they are at least on your case and once you send back what they want you get approved.

I am so beyond livid right now.  I decided to call the USCIS today, Tier 1 was the usual unhelpful.  They said that because of RFE that we are to give them an addition 60 days.  I insisted to speak to a Tier 2 person.  Took about 35 min or so and got on the phone again.  She (George?) said basically the same thing and that they are working on February and are not on March 28 received dates, at which point I attempted to point out that that was not the case and she proceeded to say that if I was going to swear that she was not going to listen to it and hung up on me.  I am pretty sure that I didn't swear.  I mean I do swear quite a bit, but I usually know when I do.

Next call is to my Senetor, Mr Ron Wyden.  Placed call and left message for call back, Waiting on that now.

Maybe they're being smart...promise a little, but deliver a lot. Then people get surprised and happy that it didn't take 60 days it took only 15 days.

And honestly, it seems like the job of answering phone calls from people wondering why their visa isn't done probably is one of the most painful jobs around. Can you imagine every day getting angry people with complaints? I mean, how  many people call to thank them for doing it quickly? :D

Just think how much easier their job would be if the automated system they use either worked...or they actually updated it.

I mean some of them do work hard no doubt, but some don't just like anywhere else in life...But not all petitions are done wrong. Stuff happens, things get lost and have to be sent back in.

What's frustrating is our petitions go thru Background checks, then pre-screen, and finally on to the Adjudicator who apparently likes to issue an RFE 4-1/2 months after submission. People tend to get a bit sideways when that happens.

I don't pity them one bit, it's their job. At the end of the day they get to go home and kiss their SO and children and live their life. They don't have to keep reassuring a freaking out Fiancee, that everything will be fine, we just have to be patient.

NO SYMPATHY FROM ME

Thank you so much for explaining that to me again, lol. I  gave it a try and got no results so I just thought I was being dumb and doing it wrong :P (Still might be the case ).

@JeniandMatt I'm being lazy, so I'll copy and paste what I said right before about the Alien number: "That A number in the NOA2 is the Alien Number. So far I've used it for the i134 and to write it in the back of my passport picture for the Embassy. I don't remember right now if it's required on the DS-160, but sure enough we'll need it later on to fill in more paperwork for AOS."

Also I know a certain someone around here (*wink, wink*) that called NVC only 6 days after NOA2 and got their case number, so no harm on trying

Thanks @Estibaliz I'll inform Matt to update his i134 for my alien number. We did noticed it there but since we still don't have the hard copy when he was doing the form we never give any attention lol. And yes we are just gonna try our love Bec he seems to be lucky in calling so maybe we will be this time again 😉

Completely agreed that this isn't a fun or glamorous job.. But I personally feel like active updates on the cases would solve at least half the calls. All I want from a Tier 2 rep is an update - has our case been assigned? Is someone looking at our case? Is it still on background check and for whatever reason that's take a long time?

Only if we had updates about when a case a passes a pre-screen, gets an adjudicator assigned, passes a background check, etc., I know a visual progress would give me some assurance that it's being worked on. The absolute silence for 4+ months is what's killing me, not knowing if anyone has even touched our case.
