Can't sleep. Flooded with worry and panic. I don't want to pass another day with no news. What if it never comes? Or what if it doesn't come for 8 months..what did I do wrong? Am I screwing up my life? I have spent the past two years here in Peru with Willy and his family. I want to share my home with him- my joys, the people I grew up with, my family, my traditions. I feel empty here in Cusco. I want us to move forward. Does the government hate me? I hope not. Please, I just want news back.

Looking on the bright side of things,,,,,,, You have just about the fastest embassy in the world.  Be sure you are doing all of your prep work now, reviewing the embassy website for guidance, and ready to go when you get your NOA2.  We watched @Alysia&Luis fly through her journey to a remarkable POE.  Alysia was spot on in her planning and had a great game plan figured out in advance.  You can see yourself from her timeline how fast she went from NVC to POE, so forget about NOA2 for a while and put a good plan together so when that day comes, you will be ready

Just an FYI, I spoke with the NVC this morning since I was curious how they process packets and send them out to the consulates. The agents are not permitted to give specifics (like it is some huge state secret and requires top secret clearance . . .lame), however she was able to say they are getting ready to send the shipment. She confirmed that they do not send packages out individually, rather they send bulk shipments which is the same way they receive them from the USCIS.

I can imagine the boxes of our packets waiting to ship once the boxes is full. I suppose that is efficient though it does not placate our anxiety about missing our loved ones or wanting the process accelerated in bringing them home to us.

Hi!

It was heavier on my mind at night last night. Thank you for your words of encouragement! The mornings feel easier.

Thank you for the info. I already assumed it was like that... Now I'd like to know how many cases they wait to have before shipping them

I knew my case was third of the day from Spain, so not that many really...

LOL, we are always waiting :)

That's to be expected. The shipper, whether it's USPS, FedEx or UPS, only comes once a day.  I would assume it's USPS. In some high volume instances they may make two pickup/delivery stops but you're still going to have a large number of cases piling up waiting for the next pickup.

I'm right there with you, especially because you're only a day ahead of me given that April 7 was a Friday and April 10 was a Monday. No clue what's going on over there at USCIS. It's like they're on a different planet.

Well, someone with your same Received date got the NOA2 in the mail yesterday, dated 8/23. So I think it's good you are planning ahead and getting ready for all kind of outcomes, but don't lose hope completely, because I wouldn't say you've been left behind yet :)

Best of luck!

And there are others with my same dates, and dates after mine approved before me as well. Not to mention all the people in February and March still waiting, but I'm not the kind of person that can sit by idly and wait without having some sort of plan. I'm very patient and can bide my time, but only if I have a plan in place...by doing this I'm giving myself a plan and can be patient again (sort-of)? Seems bizarre but that's what works for me.

I'm hoping that three things will happen with the congressional inquiry.

  1. It acts as an informal expedite in the sense that whoever the adjudicator is, is informed of a congressional inquiry on one of their cases, and it scares them into picking up the pace, which would benefit everyone assigned to them and not just me. Though, I'm not expecting this at all.
  2. My senator provides useful information about USCIS and their processes and methods for adjudicating the cases that I'll then be able to share with everyone here.
  3. It will provide documentation should I need to go to the Ombudsman.

Sorry if that comes across as unfriendly @Estibaliz I'm venting/ranting because this process is infuriating to say the least. But I do appreciate the encouragement and well wishes. Please know that! :)

Tagging you @Eric.molnar because you're April 7 and also still waiting, so you might be interested.

It doesn't come across as unfriendly at all. I'm pro rants and venting :)

Everyone deals with this process as best as they can and in many different ways. I think all of them are good as long as they work for yourself.

I was just trying to give you a bit of hope ;)

As I said, kudos to you for planning for all kind of situations.

Ok so I'm pretty annoyed really but I guess that's to be expected during this process.

I called my GP today and asked for a full copy of my medical history and it is going to cost £50!

Can anyone from the U.K. Comment on this.

Is this normal!? I feel totally ripped off.

There are a lot.....  I could probably think of 15 right off that are from Feb & Mar filers, and that's just the ones I noticed.  I know there are more.

They say that for every complaint, there are 20 others that haven't said anything, so if I can think of 15 times 20, that's 300 here in VJ alone.  USCIS wide (if averages are indicative here) that's more than 4,000 before April not approved yet.

It's a mess, isn't it? :)

We called on 22 august....and the next day we received a notification of approval ... and in the NOA2 hardcopy the notice date 08/22/2017... probably a coincidence .... August 21 was a solar eclipse, on August 22 I wrote in the comments,
...." Lord of Mercy ....."
... our call , the same day,  then  NOA2 .... when I think about it all .... maybe it's a little crazyness because of  waiting ...))

We have the same approval date. My f has also told me he received the hard copy yesterday. So when are you planning to call nvc?
