The letter of Intent is fine to be scanned.   No RFE's have been issued for wet signatures since 2013 when the requirements changed.

Save your money and scan away!

I think I read around here you used a scanned letter for your first K1, that was approved no problem by USCIS, right?

I think the personal experience can be helpful to understand it's not really an issue :)

Any idea of how are things moving for you since the case was transferred? Wishing you the best!

Okay I checked the 1-129F instructions and it mentions nothing about wet/original signature. And also something on visatutor that says a scanned signature is fine.

Unshakable Faith, I'm curious where you found that info about the requirements changing in 2013 and no RFE's for wet signatures? Might be helpful for all here to put this issue to rest.

Hey all so I'm sorry to bother you all again but we're sending off our stuff for our RFE today. I'll list what we were asked for & we are sending. Please tell me if I should add more:

US Citizenship: were sending pic of passport plus birth certificate

Beneficiaries intent to marry: check done that

Circumstances of meeting: written one full page on how we met online and how our relationship developed also inc terms and conditions from that dating site. Also including screen shots from Skype and messages.

Personal meeting: 15-25 pics? Is that too many? Written statement from myself although it's included in circumstances of meeting. Airline bookings and passport stamps pics ( would it best to send in my expired passport with about 6 stamps)?

Also included screen shots of stuff his family have tagged me in on Facebook?

Yes, I scanned my documents both times!  First round was approved with no RFE, of course still waiting for approval this go round.  As for my case, I submitted an inquiry to be informed of the reason behind the transfer.  I should hear something back before September 1st.  Hopefully we will be approved soon!

It is VERY rare for a I -129F to be flat out denied.  That only occurs when one of the 3 requirements are not met.

1) Petitioned by a US citizen.

2) Free and legally able to marry

3) You've met within the past 2 years prior to filing.

Everything else will generate an RFE.  If the RFE is not satisfied- they can issue another or deny.

There's a list compiled by a VJ member of all RFE's issued to VJ members.   I think it dates back to 2006 and stops in 2015.  You'll see there's no RFE's on that list for wet signatures.

Additionally, there's no real requirements for the Intent To Marry besides it states that you are free and legal able to marry and will marry within 90 days of the beneficiaries arrival.  With that being said, instructions on the I-129F state that photocopies are accepted unless otherwise stated.  Given that information, it is stated nowhere on USCIS's website that wet signatures are required.  USCIS is very clear on what their requirements are, so it would be clearly listed if wet signatures were required.

On another brighter note, I'm SO ready to see more approvals roll in soon!!!

Boarding passes are better than airline bookings, because those don't guarantee you actually travelled. However, that's what passport stamps prove, so no problem. I also added my Travel History (through the i94 website) to match with the dates in the bookings and stamps, and also as proof that I didn't overstay.

If you are sending the birth certificate, you don't need the copy of the US passport. But if you do send that, remember it has to be all the pages, including blank ones (I guess they might suspect you are hiding asomething if don't send the blank ones?).

The rest sounds good to me. You don't need to flood them with pictures, since that's secondary evidence. We sent 2-4 for every in person meeting, including pictures with both our families and friends.

Good luck :)

I don't think I have any boarding cards I throw them away eek. But the passport stamps certainly show entering the USA. Where do I find that on the i94 website? I'll do that, I've never overstayed. Okay cool think we'll just do birth certificate as it's easier. Lol

If only uscis would put 25 people on K1's, we potentially could get out of this rut, in 6 months........

Yeah I thought about calling back after 2 hours but I fell asleep because it was around 2am here in the philippines and I took some medication for my allergies so I dozes off instantly. Thanks so much for the advice about calling.

Are you the petitioner? I'm really quite certain tier 2 only talks to a petitioner until your petition is approved.   Once it goes to NVC, you are officially recognized by uscis at that point, so you can call NVC.

I have the same timeline! I broke down and called this week and have an rfe that she said would arrive within 30 days. Tracker still says received. Rfe's get updated more than approvals but I have been tracking around our dates and nothing for a couple days

Well, I guess an RFE is still better than nothing at all. Because at least, you know that they've touched your file. I'm glad you were able to find out. Good luck! I'm sure it'll just be easy for you. I'm rooting for ya!

Okay well my evidence (scanned letter from fiance stating her intent to marry) has been sent. And word to the wise....

I went to FedEx and they told me they don't ship to PO boxes, which this evidence is sent to. So I had to detour to the post office. But for only about $6 USD they said it will be there by Monday. That's right, day after tomorrow. Or maybe Tuesday.

Dang, can't ask for better than that, especially since tomorrow is Sunday. And it's travelling from east coast to west coast.

Cool. Fingers crossed. Again....

Yep, that's what Keith did last Saturday, and it did arrive on Monday. Tuesday they updated the tracker to Response to RFE Received, so that was quick. Hope is the same for you...
