Since the uscis site was taken down (decidedly an inconvenience to us filers) I couldn't imagine having made this journey without peer review and support that is found here in this site.  The information here is 'Averages' and cannot be taken for factual, - case in point, my timeline started with my NOA2 expected at 8 June and continued to slide longer and longer until it stopped moving, then I was approved 3 weeks after it's latest prediction.  You could look at others around you, and hope that you are close to approval.  A case 7 above me was approved 21 June.  On 26 July a case 6 below me was RFEd.  Still I waited.  I'm one of the lucky ones.  At uscis, you have a 50 50 shot at a 4 month approval and you have a 50 50 shot at a 8 month approval.  10 months ago, it was less.  In another 10 months, we can see even longer waiting times. (probably will).

So if in terms of legitimate dead on accuracy....... Nope.  You can merely make an educated guess of the user submitted data - average out what you sense as being applicable to you, and hope your case hasn't gone into backlog where only overtime will get it worked.

You do have one thing going for you, and that is time.  Time is actually on your side.  The longer you wait, the greater your chance improves for that Golden Letter.

Everyone here feels what you feel.  We all have had days of despair, wondering, even anger (yep, me too)

So, without VJ, you would be wondering 'What and Who' and with VJ, you have some really great people in here to vent, rejoice with, and help console when they are down too.

Hang in there, just Continue on.  You'll get there and we'll be there to congratulate you when you make it.

Wait- 8 months...I have never heard that. I can't imagine that :o Please please please don't tell me that.

I'm actually convinced that yours will already be in the mail! The wait is so much harder with snail mail being the only way to know. Hang in there and I think you'll have it very soon.

I was the same (refreshing constantly) and now I realise that actually it was pointless because they just don't update the tracker at all. If your status is still received you can be around 90% sure that at least you don't have a RFE. Unfortunately that's all the tracker is good for!

I don't know what appointment times are like. That might be something to ask a U.K. Citizen on the march forum since they are at that point. I haven't got my case number yet so haven't looked what embassy wait times are like. Good luck and I hope your NOA2 is very soon! Maybe even today ^_^

Jonathan says U.K. appts are approx 1 month out for whomever is asking.

Age gap doesn't mean much. Proof and ability to provide financial support means everything. There's a 23 year gap with us, and her country (Canada) isn't known for that being a cultural norm.

I will say if the sponsor's income isn't well above the 125% threshold, kids might be an issue. If they are, it's a non-issue.

K3 visas normally take longer to process, but for what it's worth, that's one route that was suggested to us. We didn't agree with it for a number of reasons.

USCIS does not care about this.  It you have all the correct documents and proof of relationship, and you meet the requirements, they will approve it.

Your relationship will be scrutinized at the embassy interview.

Since you have not completed your profile, don't know what country/Embassy you will interview.

I would go to the forum for the country/embassy you interview and ask the question there.

OP timeline shows Morocco

Yes, USCIS just decides if the prerequisites are met.  The real challenge is at the embassy.

There is a lot of threads on Morocco here in VJ, It is a k1 tough row to hoe.  CR1 also is hard.  Age deviation isn't important here nor in PH but the local custom there says differently, it is heavily weighed for K1's and CR1's.  Also there are religious backgrounds, high fraud, and many other considerations (right or wrong, but yet there).  I really don't like to give someone false confidence, but I also am not saying it cannot be done.  The OP has the burden of proof in the Bonafide department, and going in the door loaded for bear is the best advice I have for her.  Tanderson64 has good advice to start a forum and get the seasoned vets to weigh in.

I agree the block is elsewhere. I'm so focused on NOA2 I don't even see past it these days. It does look like K1s get denied a lot more often in Morocco than other countries.

Hi, I'm sorry, but I just am having a hard time with the 8-month idea. I never heard that. I just don't know what to do with that information. Eat chocolate? Cry? I can't wait another 4 months for an NOA2 :((((

I want to thank everyone for their input.  It's all loaded.  Tons of pictures, letters from friends and family, receipts etc... I actually have a pretty good job and meet the requirements.  I know Morocco is rough.  I've read horror stories.   We have a plan if they say no.  It was just irritating to think about I guess.  Thank you again to everyone :)

You had a great post on 10 August (i think).  I just picked one at random and it was very genuine. You are a good writer, print that post and make more writings that include content like that.  Maybe a journal, a Blog, or something.  I'm convinced, just document well and try to attend the interview to convince those skeptics.

We all have thought of the Plan B, whether we admit it or not.  Load your evidence heavy and give it your best.  On the other hand, there are quite a few approvals from that embassy as well :)

Been wondering, did you get NVC number yet? A large number went to NVC on 24th

Our lawyer explicitly requested we not attempt to get it, claiming it would potentially slow the process of his notification.

I don't believe it but I'm not going to mess with it since so much of the process is in his hands. They did ask for the information required to fill out the I-134 and DS-160 this week, though, so it sounds like they're trying to get ahead of things.

One more time for those reading: unless you've got something unusual going on (criminal history, high fraud country or whatever) -- do this yourself. Do not get a lawyer involved. It'll just add months to your processing time.
