Yep, I didn't need it for the DS160, but maybe to pay the fee online laaaater on :P

Thank you!

Let's sit and wait for Embassy now, since everything else is ready for the both of us

We already paid fee.  For visa from Russia, you go to a link for a Russian bank and fill out your information and email and card information.  From experience, I knew the charge would be declined, so I was on the phone with my bank, and when the first charge was declined, I told them to authorize it, and it went through the second time.

Received the receipt email for payment, waited a day, and then completed the Visa interview application on UStraveldocs.

Now we wait...and hopefully not too long.

Can I fill out the DS 160 or does my fiancee have to do it? We'll need to do two for her and her daughter.  Do I pay at that stage? Thanks!

Well folks it turns out the RFE I received was solely because my fiance didn't specifically state in a letter her intent to marry me. I'm certain she included a history of relationship, but maybe it wasn't specific enough about intent.

So as soon as she wakes up and stops kicking herself (she's in the PI now and I'm in the US) she'll throw together a letter, email to me, and I'll print and FedEx this afternoon.

Wow, what a relief.

You can fill out the DS-160 any time.

I would wait to pay after you receive NOA2 and you have NVC case number.

April now at 30 percent approval after 20 days of processing. Hope none of you get thrown in the disregard pile like Colombia noa1s are now.

Why do you think Columbia is in a disregard pile?

I've been wondering this as well.  Perhaps @twoDs has a good answer as he is the resident statistician since Trilobyte had the job in February.

I don't know if those left on the cutting room floor has anything to do with origin, with the exception of CARRRP countries (that's a nasty animal that I won't go into).  But is it country specific or just dumb luck?

When to pay the fee is country specific too. I'll pay when I book the interview online, since that's how it works here.

Any of you can fill out the DS160, as long as your fiance is the one signing and submitting the forms electronically (just pressing a button).
