Received date is for NOA1 when you first submit your I-129F. NOA1 has a notice date as well. I can guess the NOA2 only has a notice date but don't know yet! I Hopefully will know this answer very soon!

Good Luck!

Sorry I meant noa1! So the date is that day they received it? Or it's that notice date?

We have the same NOA1 date!  The two apps I use are the USCIS and CASE TRACKER.  I don't think either is officially an extension of USCIS.  I looked at the developer profile and they same to be made my independent developers.  In any case, the case tracker app is a good one because you can follow a few cases around your NOA1 date (using establiz's April i129 list posted last week-- thank you dear!), and with those cases you can run a search for all the i129's you're following to see whether those are progressing.

Thank you so much! Hopefully we're going to be approved soon :)

They actually created the case yesterday, according to what I can infer from the case number (day 236 of the year = August 24th).

Of course, the case is still 'AT NVC', but glad I don't have to keep bothering Gary to call them. Now the ball will be soon completely on my court :)

@tcovington I know you wanted to know this. Hope you have luck today too.

I was having the same issue as I graduated college last year and didn't make enough on my tax returns. I believe we came to the consensus that it only matters what your current income is, but that the taxes help show a stable income history over time, and if you're cheating on them, which would be another issue. And, when you think about it, if you are filing the I-134 and supplying a tax return, well that is outdated, and for us, it will be outdated by 9-12 months, so surely they can't judge you based off of that for your current income. You'll want to have paystubs for a few months to show a steady income and you'll also need employer verification that follows this format as found in Form I-134 Instructions document on page 3 of 6, Supporting Evidence, subsection B (https://www.uscis.gov/system/files_force/files/form/i-134instr.pdf):

B. Statement(s) from your employer on business stationery showing:

1.      Date and nature of employment;

2.      Salary paid; and

3.      Whether the position is temporary or permanent.

Also, know that no where in the form does it say that you must meet the requirement on your previous year's tax returns.

@sunj I just realized you already have the employment letter and paystubs so that's awesome. Just make sure it addresses those 3 bullets. I had HR rewrite mine so that it very clearly has a sentence for each bullet.

As for 2016 taxes, if she was abroad she also would've needed to file in the local country, correct? I believe you'll also want to supply those as well to make sure everything was filed correctly, along with a brief explanation. International taxes can get tricky with residency rules, treaty, and both countries wanting to tax all global income. I'd say better safe than sorry. Can anyone else confirm that or know differently? Anyone in a similar situation?

So we just got an e-mail saying our request to expedite the visa application was approved and the embassy will contact me soon to schedule an interview. We never requested expedition though? Has this happened to anyone else?
Obviously it's good news, my only concern is I am very behind on vaccinations (as in, haven't had any since I was a baby and have no record, unfortunately) and I have a vaccination appointment scheduled for next week but now I'm worried I won't be able to get them all done in time, especially since I think some of them have multiple doses a couple weeks apart.

Someone please reassure me it will all be ok?! Haha

I might be mistaken, but for what I've seen lately that email is what they send now when your case is electronic, and there's not really an expedite requested.

As vaccines are not mandatory for K1's, but later on for AOS, you can have the medical and finish the immunization in the States if necessary. The only thing is this will probably be more costly, because you need to have a civil surgeon completing your vaccines records (DS3025) there.

Anyway, if you want to wait a bit for your medical and interview you can do that too, since your NOA2 has a 4 months validity that can also be extended.

It kinda (excuse my word) sucks now. Don't get me wrong, I feel very happy for everyone who already have their NOA2. Especially those who has the same NOA1 date and timelines as I have. I know the generic things I should tell myself now like; it'll come through, it's just around the corner, it's on its way to the mailbox. And it gets even more frustrating that I feel like our lives are on hold and I can't even plan anything for our wedding, I don't know when to gather the documents and whatnots. It's sad to think about. I didn't know this could be very depressing. My fiance used to be calm and chill about this but now he's starting to worry about it...which makes me more sad. Urgh. sorry. Another rant. It's bit of an off day because a new typhoon just struck philippines so.

Hello! I've never posted on here before, but I do check in, or lurk, almost everyday. It is nice to see peoples updates, stories, and questions. We are a NOA1 date of April 25th. Last week I spoke with a Tier 2 customer service rep (after all of your great tips, I knew to ask for Tier 2!) and asked, in addition to a lot of other questions, about a status update. He mentioned that they were working on February cases, and my man probably wouldn't be in the country until March/April 2018!! I know from this forum that people are getting approved now, so I am forging ahead and trying to get things in order in hopes that they are wrong and y'all are right and we should see something positive in the next few weeks.

So, point of this post, I am hoping one of you might be able to offer some insight into the I-134 Affidavit of Support. I am a student right now so have no income, and last year I was living and working abroad the first half of the year and didn't file any taxes here. I do have enough in assets and savings to show I am above the poverty line (i do know you need to show more than poverty line in this case). Is it an issue to be a sponsor without an income and just on assets? And, do I need to show my tax returns for the time I was living abroad? Does anyone know who to contact with these questions or any website/forum that gives good information on this subject?

Any help would be appreciated! And, good luck to all!

Posted

Thanks @A_F for the help, I've ensured that the employment letter written has clearly stated the 3 points and supplied on letter headed paper with a wet signature.

But you're correct she/I have copies of the tax returns for the years we filed in Hong Kong along with a final tax clearance document showing we owed no further money to the HK Government before we departed.

Hopefully all of that will convince them.

Thanks for the advice, appreciated.

Hey @S*UK

Firstly, Congratulations on receiving your NOA2, you must be buzzing!

I have been lurking around this forum for ages, but can see that your from the U.K, and also received your NOA1 on April 13th, so feel it's time to pipe up! Out of curiosity, are you able to say what the last few digits of your receipt were? This wait is really becoming tedious now, and I would love to have a little glimmer of hope!

Thank you!

Of course! My full WAC number is WAC1790283323 ... one of the very first with 4/10 received date. I know the feeling and all I can say is hold on in there and it WILL come when you least expect it to. Hope that's very soon x
