I am the same way.  I hired an attorney and although we have an rfe coming, I feel confident that it's not because he missed something.  As a matter of fact, he kicked our paperwork back to me twice with things I needed to fix to submit.  What people sometimes fail to remember is every case is different.  My fiance lives in a house that doesn't even have a street address.  He doesn't have facebook or even internet so we provided everything we could when we applied but that doesn't mean it's going to be enough.  We will find out soon enough what we need to provide to move forward, but comparing my case to someone else's is like comparing apples to oranges.  And don't even get me started on the people processing the cases and how thorough they are compared to others!

So true! Hiring an attorney or using a visa service is a personal decision. It can be based on lots of different reasons and all of them are equally valid. If you can afford it and you want to do it, then that's enough.

What really pains me here is when you see people stumbling with the bad kind, that ends up delaying their process and being kind of unhelpful.

But oh well, always happened, always will... Just hoping no one here has to go through that experience.

Agreed!  This process is painful enough, but adding a crappy attorney or visa service to the mix would make it even worse!

Okay guys!!! Freaking out a little. So I called today right.... they said still no touch yet. Asked them about my case. They said it had not been touched. I checked my inquiry early this morning and it had still said it was made on the 11th. Check it again just now and it says

On August 23, 2017, we sent a response to your general inquiry, referral number ETCXXXXXXXXXXCSC.

On August 21, 2017, your general inquiry, referral number ETCXXXXXXXXXXCSC, was assigned to an officer for response.

What could this mean!!?!?! Also my case still says received. I hope this is good news because I will be calling in tomorrow since my inquiry is completed apparently. And today they were still saying it could take a few more weeks. Please help. Confused.

Just got off the phone with NVC.  Have case number and all other ID numbers.

So it was 12 days from NOA2 approval to NVC.

From what I have seen from others, it takes about 2 to 3 days to get to Embassy and ready status.

To my shock, it was in fact our approval. After 137 days (I think) I have my NOA2. I am going to Morocco next week, and I was hoping it would come before I left, and it did!!! I shed some tears of joy! I am almost done collecting all of my documents for his interview, and will take them to Morocco. What's next?? I thought I had everything planned out, but now that I am here, I feel like my mind is blank!!!

On a side note, the tracker ap I use on my iphone dropped confetti when I opened it to the approval.

My NOA1 date was 04/11/17 if anyone is wondering!!

That's awesome!! Congrats!!  And the iphone app confetti is cool.  It will always show confetti now when you open the app and your case.

Yes - it takes about 12 days for NVC to receive your petition and assign case number.

I don't know how long it takes for the embassy you will interview at to receive...
