'USCIS Case Status' app... That it's actually based on the USCIS tracker itself, so it only updates when the tracker does (basically for RFE's, rarely for Approvals). :)

I know I said just yesterday that I would take a break from trying to figure out my case status, but all this talk about RFEs got me interested, and so I checked one of the USCIS apps on Android and noticed a lot of "movement" in and around my case. I searched roughly 100 cases ahead of me, and then 50 cases behind me. It looked like a good number of RFEs had been sent out within the past week and even past few days or so on both sides of my case, but only RFEs were updated, except for one notice of withdrawal and a few name corrections. Hopefully that's good news and I can expect something in the mail next week. Fingers crossed and back to my ignorance is bliss approach (for tonight anyways...).

Received 4/10

NOA1 4/13

so I'm thinking they need more proof of our relationship since we had only known each other a short time before getting engaged.

My fiance and I only knew each other 3 months before we submitted petition and we were approved no problem.  As long as you meet the requirements of having met in the last 2 years, and you have proof of this, you should be good.

It is probably something else, something simple.

Your relationship will be scrutinized more at the embassy interview.

We have the same dates. I've seen a significant lack of action around our date. There is a lot of action ahead of us (recieved 13/14) and behind us (receied 4/5/6). Its incredibly frustrating. I feel like they just totally forgot about our date.

Normally I would agree, but my Senators office said there have been a lot of frivolous RFEs since February, missing documents that were there for pre-check, not enough history on how you met, misplaced boarding passes etc. congress is aware and investigating.

Well, it seems it's all about RFE's today :(

@spike198 and @vcpdragon, I'm sorry you both are too in this situation, but just a tad better than the uncertainty. Hoping for a quick arrival of the letter, as well as an easy fix.

I guess they might be asking for something like more proof of relationship or a new passport picture because they sometimes misplace those... Having used a lawyer or visa service there's a bunch of things that should be discarded, but you never know...

Yes, Makes me wonder, but I guess we will find out eventually ... I think it's September before it arrives, but as you said no more uncertainty and soon we will be on our way! :D

Just saw a topic from someone that got a RFE because they didn't send the explanation on how they met, plus apparently they didn't send proof of having met in person in the last two years either.

They had hired a lawyer to help with the application

This has me thinking, seriously... Gary tells me some times (joking?) I should work on the States helping people preparing their petitions. Well, evidence seems to be it wouldn't be that difficult to do the average job  *smh*

(BTW, he only says that because he barely moved a finger to prepare our package and, when so, it was under strict instructions and push :P I don't know why he still thinks, after 3 years, that stroking an ego I don't have is going to get him anywhere with me, when he's just having a lax attitude).

When I first started learning about this process I thought of hiring a lawyer.  Then quickly learned, after talking with a few lawyers on the phone, most knew less about the process than I did.

Then I found this site, and the rest is history.

I am very thorough about everything, and I've learned if you want something done right, do it yourself.

Huh. I used the spinach one, and it looked like they were definitely dealing with 4/10 but perhaps I read it wrong.
