Please keep in mind that she will not be able to leave the US until she receives her AP or she will be considered to have abandoned her AOS. This typically takes at least three months from when you file for it conjointly with AOS and EAD (if you so choose and want the fees for AP and EAD waived). Also keep in mind that the visa is only valid for 6 months after the date of her medical. As for what you and our fiancee want to do, that is best left up to you, but please be cognizant of those dates/deadlines.

Completely aware of all of that. She and her sister hate each other so she wasn't going to the wedding. But, her mom is going to the wedding and she wants me to meet her and her grandfather. Our plan is to get her here and all settled in and figuring out what all she wants to do to the house and looking at some non-profits to work with.

Well guys and gals ... placed a call to USCIS and RFE is on the way ... can't help but wonder what they need, but it isn't a denial and turn around seems quick so I'll take it

I did the same and got the same answer. We hired an immigration attorney who went over everything with a fine tooth comb so I'm thinking they need more proof of our relationship since we had only known each other a short time before getting engaged. We have tons more ammo now so if I'm correct, I'll shoot it back quickly and see what happens. Curious... did they tell you when you could expect it? She told me within the next month

Awesome! Hopefully timing works out well for you two and you're able to plan things without those deadlines causing any issues!

No, not at all. I think she just didn't want to tell me dates and then I call back if it hasn't come. I like your answer better so I'm going with 10-15 days. I am doing some heavy traveling beginning on the 11th so I just pray it's before that

Yeah we will see what happens with our planning. I am actually a bit nervous the notice will arrive while I am on a two week business trip that starts on Labor day. My mail will obviously be on hold that whole time. Hopefully they send it to our lawyer first and he just sends me a pdf scan. Just nerve racking right now. I suspect we are going to get pushed to November or December at this point.

Yeah I feel you on that. You're not the only one worried about being out when the mail comes. Saw a few others with that same concern. I wish there were more notifications tracking th progress of our cases so that we could plan better. I bet it would also help USCIS not need to answer so many calls, too!

Sad thing is when you call them up, they deny that any April cases are going through...and keep saying it's it's a 6 month process!! I hate lieres!!! 121 days and climbing... I swear I wish I could go to this office in California, and see what they really are doing...

Agreed. I straight up told them I knew that wasn't true and they tried to say "maybe your friends are lying" I said ummm they have no reason to lie and I've seen some of their approval letters... then they say, oh well this information was last updated June 30 so it could be wrong... but then a guy told me yesterday it was updated Auguest 16 and it's correct and anyone who says they were approved from April is lying. 🙄

Exactly, just a few more updates along the way would be nice. You get the first letter and then it all falls in a black hole. It is amazingly frustrating.

@vcpdragon and @spike198, you both are in the same position that I was in.  I called and was told they requested it on 7/31 and didn't get the notice online that it was actually mailed until 8/15, then received it on 8/18.  For some reason it takes them a bit to actually send it out when it was requested by the Officer.  That is really frustrating.  You should receive an update on the case at some point in the next 2 weeks, then you will know that it is on the way.  Good Luck, hope it is something easy.
