Thanks so much! We need all the luck we can get. I know it's not really a long-long wait but it kinda makes you anxious waiting for something you worked for. Very excited and scared lol have a nice day :-)

You are welcome.  We are all here to help each other and encourage each other.  You are correct, it is exciting and scary.  It also makes you anxious, but we are here for each other.  You have a wonderful day. 🙂

I would have to concur with Keith & Monica on this.  On top of the month and half to get to the embassy, then you would need to schedule the interview plus all of the medical checks etc.  Even if they clear some of the logjam, you would be hard pressed to make that date.  I wish you both the best of luck.

He's UK. We have a way to get through his part in 3-4 weeks. We're just worried about the NOA2. Our estimate was first week of July. Just hoping to get it a week earlier. What part of march are they on?

They just started touching March, first week it seems. Your estimate is mid July, and even if you could do the Embassy part in 2-3 weeks, you still have to go through NVC which is taking an average of 3 weeks lately.

You don't know when you'll  get NOA2 or if your case will be in AP after the interview. Of course you can always get lucky but I don't see your wedding date as a very realistic one, sorry :(

I would be wary of any way that deviates from the norm.  You shouldn't be able to schedule an interview without the NVC number that NVC issues.   You also cannot track your case on CEAC status checker (where you track for the rest of the process) until you have your NVC case number.   You'll check this status and when it says "ready for interview", you're able and safe to schedule.

Without the status being "ready for interview", you run the risk of scheduling your interview before the embassy receives your file and is ready for you to interview.

Hi everyone!  I'm pretty late to the party but I've been following this forum and thought I might as well join and jump in.  My name is Staci and my fiance's name is Tamar.  I live in California and he lives in Jamaica.  We met last year and got engaged in February.  We filed in April and paperwork was received on April 6th.  When we filed we prepped ourselves for a worst case scenario as far as a timeline is concerned so we wouldn't be disappointed if it didn't happen as soon as we hoped.  We hired an immigration attorney to make sure we did everything correctly and when we filed he said that they were averaging about 4-6 months (which according to all of your posts and research on the months in front of us seems to be about right).  Anyway, it's so great to have this site and this forum to reference.  I don't know anyone who has personally gone through this process so it's a bit overwhelming at times.  I appreciate all of your expertise and info!

We have the same received date, but might I suggest you to fill in your timeline here?

The information your lawyer provided seems right to me, though there's always some cases left behind for whatever reason. Hope that's not your case... Or anyone else's here for that matter :) I'm going to say for what I've read around here lawyers are not always that helpful for straight forward cases, but hey, anything to give us peace of mind, specially since I don't know how hard is to get approved in Jamaica.

Best of luck for you two!

Thanks

You can call the London embassy 2-3 days after they accept you and you get noa2 and you'll get the Nvc number which allows you to schedule stuff. Then all you're missing is a form I believe he says. Can't remember.

Thanks!  Not sure that 3rd world cases are always straight forward since there is a lot of fraud when it comes to visa's so we wanted to make it as tight a possible.  It's hard enough being away from each other, we can't imagine having to start over. :)  Hearing everyone's stories on here and reading the advice everyone posts has certainly given me some piece of mind!

Yes, welcome to the group.  Your right it is hard to be away from each other for a long time.
