Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC)

It does NOT need the NVC number it will generate an "AA" number for you though so be sure to write that down.

This is the number on the confirmation page right?

I did get lucky on call number three -- I just called the NVC & got the NVC number. I commented to the guy on the phone "I'm so happy, now I can book the interview!" And he said "sort of". He said I shouldn't do it until I call the embassy and make sure they have received my case so they can "tell me what I need to do in order to finish processing it." Sorry to be crass, but ####### does this mean??? I thought I could book the interview now. Next appointment at my embassy is October 3rd, that should be far enough out right now that my case number is assigned?

Funny, I only wrote "W T F" and it blocked it out! What the heck, I guess.

Sorry, but that's how it works. You have to follow whatever steps your Embassy tell you to, and normally you need to at least wait for the case to show as "Ready" on ceac website.

For most countries that's not enough, but you have to also wait for the Embassy to contact you. Even for others, as mine, you have to send them a bunch of documents after they contact you, and wait for them to authorize you booking the interview upon receiving them.

So yes, it's not that straightforward.

Hi there everyone! I am new here and had been reading the updates lately of all the approvals. I am happy for all of you who got your NOA2.

I am filing for my fiancé in the Netherlands. My NOA1 receipt date is April 6 and notice date April 12. Still no NOA2 :(. We are feeling really discouraged. Cases around us keep getting approved though not us.

I read that some of you called and asked to speak to tier 2 and had luck getting updates on your case.  So I took a chance and called today and asked to speak with tier 2 and requested for expedite. The tier 2 person said the only update is that my case is pending, has not been assigned to anyone yet. And that I didn't qualify for expedite. Idk what to do! I kind of feel helpless. Any advice on what to do? Of course trying to patiently wait. But the fact that he said our case has not been assigned has me so worried and uneasy.

I would appreciate any advice you can give us.

Thank you!

I called USCIS again today. As expected, the representative told me that they were still processing cases up to Feb 1 as shown on USCIS website.

I requested to speak to the 2nd tier representative but she refused to do so. She kept saying my case is still within the normal processing time.Probably they received so many such requests and now refuse to transfer our calls asking for status to the 2nd tier representatives. :(

Hi, thanks. But what did you mean by CEAC? I submitted the DS-160 already as it doesn't ask for the NVC number.

For tracking your case with visa number from NVC.

Interesting. As far as I know other Cuba filers have made the interview appointment directly after receiving the NVC number, and one even skipped it and opted to put the WAC number instead on the interview booking form (which apparently worked and they were approved). Cuba is not one of those consulates that contacts people for interview, I know that much. I'm pretty sure we just show up at the embassy with the rest of the stuff, but I'll take this to the Cuba forum. Maybe the NVC officer is just giving a general one-fits-all response?

It's great to hear from you! :) My fiance has been to Kiev with me as well on a winter vacation and he loved it too! You also should go to Lviv, my boy loved it so much he didn't want to leave haha, it's a really really beautiful place :)

So you guys have your NVC number  already? What date is your NOA 2? And why do you want to apply for Visa in Moscow, not in Kiev? From what I know in Moscow the queues are much longer to wait for your visa appointment than in Kiev 😵

No NVC yet. We just got approved two days ago.

My fiance' lives in Bryansk so, Moscow is much closer

Try mentioning that you think the tracker is broken. That's what got me to the tier 2 officer. He was hesitant before I said that, but then readily admitted that it had been having problems and happily transferred me.

I called yesterday and spoke with a tier 2 officer as well. However, he informed me that my case has been assigned to an adjudicator. Unfortunately I know this isn't news that you want to hear, but I thought it would be best to let you know my experience so you can compare. My received date is April 10 and NOA1 date is April 13. Really not sure what order they decide to review cases in. Try to keep positive and hang in there! They are definitely working on cases with similar dates as yours.

Whoa whoa whoa. I'm just checking after a day or two and now I have a question about affidavit of support. So as of now I make well over the 125%. The same can be shown through my 2016 tax return. I made less in 2015 and my tax records show it. Would I I need a co-sponsor? I'm confused about that bit or are my finances good enough for the embassy and adjustment of status? Any help I appreciated.

You only need a co-sponsor based on the current year poverty guidelines. Your tax records are used for proof of consecutive work history, meaning no large gaps of being unemployed.

Your current income will be used based on the 125% poverty requirements.

I can now soundly say that if you are currently over the 125% threshold then you are golden. If you were over it last year too, then that's even better. Technically, you only have to submit the previous year's tax returns. Even in my situation I theoretically should be in the clear.

Yay!!!! I was really worried. I had hoped but then I'm like I'll be damned we get to the finish line and have a up. I'm worried about them looking at my pay stub as I allot some money to another account. I guess I'll have to write a letter for him. Same with my employment letter to show I'm a regular employee.

Has anyone started on the aos stuff yet?
