Oh yeah.., Of course it is too soon.. Let's hope and pray the communication system will be better soon before it's our time.. But in case it will still be bad on that time, at least we have another option to do.. I got the feeling that a lot of January filers or even the Feb are already approved without noticed..

NO NOA1 HARD COPY RECEIVED YET

Hello fellow April 2017 filers. Glad to find everyone here! :star:

Our case has been active for 41 days but NO NOA1 hard copy received yet until today.

Form I-129F was received by USCIS April 19, 2017 - stated in the Case Status check online.

My fiancee called USCIS and was advised that hard copy NOA1 was mailed April 21, 2017, however NONE was received in the mail until today. They advised that our will case will take 3-4 months average processing time. They also confirmed that our mailing address was correct.

F is in Navy so his mailing address and physical address are different. He cannot have full watch of their home's mailbox (but his family can).

Anybody here who experienced same case? What to do next? Will the absence of hard copy NOA1 affect our whole process?

Need your thoughts and advises friends! Very much appreciated. (L)

**CSC Stage**
April 14, 2017 - Date sent
April 19, 2017 - Date received
June 01, 2017 - Requested USCIS to resend the NOA1 (missing NOA1)
June 11, 2017 - NOA1 hard copy received
Sept 20, 2017 - Case approved (case tracker and email notification)

Waiting for NOA2 hard copy...

Welcome to the April filers forum :)

I'm sorry you are having to go through that kind of trouble so early in the process, but I think you will be fine. I haven't seen anywhere stated than NOA1 hardcopy is really that necessary or asked for at any stage of the process. It mainly gives you the peace of mind of knowing your case is received and provides you with your case number and dates, and also allows you to check if they registered your names and DBO's right. But it seems you already have that important information via the online system :)

Anyway, there's always the option of sending them an e-Request, if that gives you some extra peace of mind: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do

I guess that depends on what you want to do, but I think there's some more people that never received the NOA1 and that was no problem. Again, the important thing is you have your case number, know they have your petition for processing and also you confirmed the mailing address for NOA2, because that is a vital document to have since it's required for AOS after marriage.

On another note, I don't know if you are aware of the fact the online case status tracker is currently not working for approvals, so that makes even more important to keep an eye on the mailbox. Apparently only RFE's get updated...

Also, you all, I've seen some people on January/February saying they were told upon calling USCIS that approvals will only be notified through the mail from now on  So yep, soon it will be mailman hunting season :P

Are you saying that you received it today or that you still haven't received it?

As stated above, you won't need the NOA1 for anything besides obtaining your case number and verifying names/ DOB.

Hopefully NOA2 will have less complications (this one you will need the hardcopy of).

Good morning! My fiancee is having a difficult time understanding why the K1 visa takes so long. Her patience has already been tested waiting for me to finally get my divorce papers straightened out after 2 years. During the past couple of years of waiting there was always something we needed to do regarding moving towards being together and now that we're at the simple just-wait-for-the-response stage she's struggling with it. She's resorted to trying to convince me into returning to Kosovo this summer out of fear that it will continue to drag out.

I've been following the February filers that are just now getting their NOA2 letters to pass the time and remind me that there is progress towards getting to the March and April filers. I'm generally a patient person... but not for this.

It's so hard. I returned to the UK this morning from visiting my fiancee in the US and we had to wait for my divorce to come through as well until we could file. I found leaving him this time to be the hardest it's ever been because now it's just waiting until we hear anything. I'm just hoping it will all have gone through by the end of the year.

I guess time is relative because it doesn't seem so long to me... For now. Then it's true some days are better than others. As someone that had to wait for my fiance's (petitioner) divorce to be final for almost two years, having to deal in the meantime with some bad things related and some dark times, I can relate with the feeling.

Difference here is I'm the one in the couple that really has a full understanding of the visa process, while my fiance just is ok waiting because we know will be together at the end. The when part bothers me more than it does to him, though he gets bothered with bureaucracy more than I do. I guess, all in all, we balance each other :)

It's good you got to visit during the waiting process. I was in Kosovo in January for New Years and didn't want to leave. We've been separated for 3 years now and it doesn't get any easier with time. I am still clinging to the hope that she will be here for mid-September when the three of us celebrate our birthdays. It would have been nice for her to have made it for August because my family is getting together for our first family reunion and it would have been a rare opportunity to meet my entire family. That hope was quickly diminished with the expanding K1 timelines.
