I got an RFE notification today which is bittersweet! I! Excited after 4 months I finally have a response but sad it'll be a delay. That being said, does anyone know how much an RFE can delay things? If I send whatever is required by next week can I expect to hear back soon?

It varies a great deal, but there's a good bunch of people that got approved a week after their response was received. However it took 2-3 weeks or longer for others.

As usual with this process, not easy answer and nothing certain

Sorry you got a RFE :(

Sorry for the RFE.

Maximum of two months waiting for the USCIS to touch the case again. Still depends on the person reviewing your case. I have read, it took 55 days waiting after submitting the needed docs for the RFE.

God willing, yours wont take that long. :(

Processing times just went back today to January 1st :o

Crossing everything possible for no one getting stuck waiting for NOA2 long, because it's getting even harder to get them to take action if that happens...

It looks like the chart is titled "Field Office Processing Dates for California Service Center as of: May 31, 2017." If they're working on cases with a date of Jan 1 as of May 31, then that's exactly 150 days. However, if it's an error and they're processing cases with a date of Jan 1 as of June 30, then that's 180 days. Didn't the last update say they were working on cases with a date of Feb 1 as of June 30 (149 days)? I'm not sure how everyone else counts, but I use a basic formula in Excel =Days(end date, start date), and I always use my NOA1 date. That way I might get a nice surprise if USCIS goes off of received date and get my NOA2 a few days earlier than expected. Anyways, I want to throw out there again that when I called USCIS earlier today, both the Tier 1 Person and the Tier 2 Officer told me they're working on cases from February.

What a wonderful day.  I was heading into classroom to do some training at 9 am, going to shut off my phone and I notice an email notification from USCIS.  What??!! Told my students to take a quick break, open up the email - expected RFE - and it is approval.  Completely surprised!!!

Then I get a text message, telling me to go to the web site - the status of our case has changed, go to web site - case approved!!!

Then I received a notication from the iPhone USCIS app that our case is approved.  Open the app, and a digital confetti stream goes across the screen and the message shows case approved.  Very cool!!

All unexpected since everyone has been receiving notices in the mail and nothing from the app.

I will never forget that moment...

When you go outside there will be plane pulling a banner "NOA 2 Case Approved for TANDERSLON64" :jest:

Congrats.
