Welcome to the new filers, @Mike & Tuyen @Yden and @TRbox, in case you want to stay around, though, yep, you are a May filer.

Me too we sent our packet on april 21 and they receive it on april 27 then may noa1 date is may 1.

Based on your received date, I say you are an April filer. Saying that because, although in the VJ Timeline you have to use the NOA1 noticed date (BTW, don't forget to update the Timeline, everyone ), the scans for the different months are based on received date, so you would be included in April... if we ever get to have scans for our month.

Talking of which, I don't know if any of you have ever considered doing the scans with the app someone here created. Not sure if I can, but thinking I might ask someone about how it works, such as how long it takes to run them daily and so on...

Anyway, still so early for us, April filers... A month since received date for us today (25 days since notice date) and still coping quite well with the waiting... but a bit  concerned about what might be happening right now at USCIS, since they didn't approve any cases this week (well, I think 1 or 2) :o So thinking maybe we should get ready for a longer wait than expected :( Let's see what happens next week...

So happy to be here with everyone.  As they say, misery love company, so at least we have each other to commiserate with.  Patience has never been my strong suit, but I guess now's as good a time as any to have some.  So everything I've seen is pointing to at least a 6 month wait.:(  Good luck to us all and hopefully, they will crank it up soon.

Cheers,

Mike & Tuyen

Add it all up and it comes to 196 days.  Just a hair over 6 months.  Of course, I could be wrong...  I actually would be happy to be wrong;)

Oh, I thought you meant until NOA2.

Yes, I'd count on about 6 months from your NOA1 until visa in hand.  It takes about 3 weeks after NOA2 for the case to be assigned a DOS number and sent to the embassy, another week possibly until the CEAC status (how you track your case after it leaves USCIS) shows "ready for interview".  After that, it's pretty embassy specific as to when a date is available for interview.

When it gets closer to the time of our NOA2's, I'll post a document that a fellow VJ member wrote up that really helped me navigate the system after NOA2 the first go round!

Cheers to you all!

I sent my package out on April 21st and NOA1 was sent on the 26th. I was very happy with the rapid response. If only the NOA2 would be as quick. My visa journey started with waiting 2 years for an unnecessarily drawn out divorce. I'd been separated from her for 2 years while I was living in Europe but never bothered to file for divorce.

I met my fiance while living and working in Kosovo but I lost my contract and had to return stateside. I finally got my divorce decree on April 21st which is the last thing I needed to file for her K-1 visa and the package went out 3 days later. I've been back to Kosovo twice to see her since leaving in 2014 the last of which was to spend New Years 2017 with her. I'll be happy when this waiting game is finally over.

Good luck to all of the rest of the April filers out there!

I didn't see a pressing need to file for divorce. I never expected to meet Shehide and was of the "never again" mindset. I filed as soon as I returned to the US and never expected it to drag out like it did.
