I have the iPhone uscis app and as those with it know, you can only see the numbers in order after yours. So the rfe's i mentioned yesterday were not only after mine but were in very random places. How are they picking the cases to look at? Does that mean our cases have been looked at and processes?

I read on another thread that someone got a second RFE. I was under the impression that as soon as I mail the extra evidence, that CSC would approve my case within the next two weeks.  Are my expectations too high?

I'm there with you! I assume yesterday's April case getting a RFE was 4/3 received date, but still didn't get confirmation :P

Don't have the time to scan cases today, but I'd like to see more April received date touched here, yep.

Maybe today :)

Hey @Estibaliz yes you are correct my received date was April 3rd, although i have the NOA1 date as 4/7 because that is when I actually received the text and mailed letter.

Can someone please post a link of where I can read about the average turnaround time for RFEs.... I thought if I just overnighted the extra evidence that it would get to them the next day and they could approve it, but I recently read that someone people are waiting more than a month. Maybe their visa is not a K-1...?

Sometimes the adjudicators miss something and then it's possible to get a 2nd RFE.  Although it's not very common.

There is no average time for anything in this process.  USCIS could receive your RFE and approve quickly, or it may take much longer.

There are many people who do not have any information about their case and have waited much longer than you, so feel fortunate that they have sent an RFE and you are a step closer to approval.

An unrelated post + reply were split from this thread, moved to the K-3 Case Progress subforum, and given the topic title "What to Expect?  [split topic."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well, I've been giving a lot of thought as to why the processing times moved backward in the website and this is what I think:

The website is designed to tell you the estimated processing time (as the name states), not necessarily which application month they are working on, therefore, on July 18 as it states in the bottom, they updated it to let us know that the waiting time is now 5 months (because the got caught up with haiti stuff or whatever reason it is) instead of the regular 3-4 months it used to say earlier in the month.

So they are not trying to trick you into believing they are working on January cases.. this is just the only way the can let us know is taking longer now, because that is the way this table is designed.

I didnt get this info from any official source, but this makes perfect sense to me..

i don't think so... they cannot put 18 july just because of K-1 filers, there are many other kinds of visas... some of them are not 5 months of  waiting, but some years...it can means that they work with any  cases  until 18 july

Looks like the VJ tracker now has moved the NOA2 to 3-4 weeks later from the original estimation.  Seeing cases from the end of March and beginning of April are starting to get touched it seems about right.  The beginning of the long journey is almost here.  I doubt it will be a never ending story. ;) Happy Friday to all!
