I completely can relate to that, from the crying to the frustration that comes from the uncertainty and impotence of knowing there's nothing you can do, especially now things are not even a matter of being left behind, but everything getting delayed for everyone.

Actually I was just having some (sad) thoughts on the fact we chose the K1 option because, even if more expensive and putting limits to travel and work for a while once there, our first priority was to be together as soon as possible after life preventing us to do so for a long while.

I'm sure that was the main advantage everyone saw on the fiance visa versus the spouse one: saving time.

It turns out now CSC shows the same processing times for both types and someone mentioned today seeing RFE's for i130 petitions for the same March dates they are working for i129's...

So I'm having a moment of weakness and just feeling sad and fooled. Gloomy me thinks that's just our luck, since things were always the hardest longest way for us... Sorry my bad luck was contagious :P

Of course, come to this point it's just a matter of endurance, because these four months have to count and they are not going to waste. And of course, all the months (that amount into years now) waiting, have allowed us to get to a complete understanding of this relationship, with the good and the bad. It turns out to be some kind of double edge sword situation... Knowing the good overcomes the bad by far and the love you share for each other worths everything... But missing someone as much and having to wait when you already lost half of your life alone, that sometimes everything seems dull and unbearable :(

Yep, getting sentimental here. My bad! :P;)

Actually I just wanted to say I hope you have a great time visiting and you are back full of energy, love and optimism :)

BTW, Gary's birthday is in September too

If it wasn't for a ten day waiting period for a marriage license in the Philippines, we would have gone the spousal route. I can't take that long of a vacation at work (ten day max)

Everything you said is everything I thought about when choosing the K1 over the spousal visa but it is what it is. And it's okay to get sentimental, we all need a moment or two to vent.

My fiance's birthday is September 10th. When is your fiance's birthday?

So many September babies! :D

I actually never expected to spend his birthday together, but a visa approved around that date? Yep, guilty :P Not anymore, of course.

hahahahah thats so cute how you created a bingo game of guess for yourself. and thanks :)

no way? really? Last I researched this, the reason why people take a while from NOA2 to Interview was because of the time people needed to gather their documents prior to the interview such as: CENOMAR, Birth Certificate, NBI Clearance, I134 Affidavis of Support (and supporting Documents) etc.

My fiance and I already gathered those documents when I visited her last June. (I visit every three months) and yes I love the philippines too :)

There was March filer who got Noa2 July 21 and had been interviewed July 28 so you still have a chance 😊 it was posted just yesterday.  That gave me hope 😊😊😊

But I'm not sure as to why it would take months to gather the necessary documents needed for the interview?

The petitioner pretty much needs a completed and signed Affidavit of Support with supporting documents of meeting poverty guidelines, and the beneficiary needs to get the immunization/vaccine records, schedule the medical exam, (fill out DS-160 and pay fee) and get the police certificate/records and certificate of non-impediment. And updated letters of intent for each and proof of ongoing relationship.

While I know every Embassy requires different things, what else would there be that it would take months to get when you've been waiting months just to receive the NOA2?

Not bad luck at all :)  It takes 12 months to process the CR-1.  Just because the initial paperwork at USCIS goes through at the same time, there is still a lot of stuff on the back end that has to happen. (Months of extra stuff)  As you know it's the K-1 + AOS rolled into one.  So we still made the best choice.  Our turn is coming.. :)

It would help to see more approvals for March or whenever around here, because this is being a pretty sterile week so far... Oh well, maybe today :)

It seems like we are all having a bit of a crisis of faith at the moment. I'm still just trying to focus on thanksgiving at the moment in the hopes that we will be together by then. I sure hope so because our wedding plans are all fall themed (pumpkin everything, bonfire, sparklers etc.)

I've been putting off getting together my police certificate and prep documents but think I may start soon to hopefully get the next step done as soon as we receive our NOA2.

Exactly.  No reason not to be prepared very early, unless your police certificates are only good for 6 mos and it might be a close thing with the interview date.  We've had our police certificates since May, and on my last trip over a few weeks ago, I left tax transcripts, affidavit, employment letter etc..  The only thing she's missing for her interview is the pay stubs, which I'll send over as PDF and she can print.

At least we are not having a wedding ceremony, so that's not anything to stress about. Right now Thanksgiving sounds very plausible, so let's hope for it :)

Because I'm a big planner and wanted to save us extra waiting, we already have all the documents ready, except for the letter of employer that Gary will get right after NOA2 (he already gave a head ups to his supervisor writing it) and send me with the i134 and fresh letter of intent to marry (though I'm 99% sure I don't need it here).

Today I'm going to the doctor because I need blood tests for my hypothyroidism (I hate blood tests, but oh well), so I'll take the opportunity to ask about vaccines, though I think I have all I need. I thought at first I might need the tetanus boost, but I've read in the medical info you don't if you got five dosis of the vaccine total, and pretty sure I had even six.

So yep, just waiting and waiting... Tick tock :clock:
