It's gonna be exactly 4 months for us on August 11th. It bothers me a lot now. I know it's gonna get easier but right now it's just bleh. I hope everyone else is having an awesome day though. I'm very off today. Gahhh. Good vibes please!

OMG I just got a notification on my app, we got our NOA2 just now!! It's nearly midnight and I was actually going to sleep but wanted to check something on my iPad and it popped up. So so happy.

I'm sure everyone is feeling the exact same way… extremely frustrating waiting and putting your life on hold. 

 

BUT school started today in the US so thats a huge positive that USCIS will be staffed up! Our time will come very soon :)

I know how you feel 🙁 4 months is too long for living in limbo! we have to remember the bigger portion is now gone, and only the little portion is left. think about the partying and celebrating when NOA2 comes, and before we know it, we will be there with our loves! ♥️

Hey all! 

 

Hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there! I was just wondering does anyone know how long you have to wait until you can leave America once getting married. We've had a change of circumstances and basically we'll just be getting married in a Vegas Chapel and then sending everything off ASAP but then I need to come home to collect my dog ASAP because I'll miss him!

You need to fill AP at the same time than AOS to be able to leave the country. I think right now it's taking 3-4 months. And you can't leave the country without it because then they will assume you abandoned the K1 and AOS and would need to do an spousal visa starting all over again.

Sorry, but you'll probably have to figure out how to take your dog with you when you travel under your K1 or see if someone else can bring him for you...

When you file your AOS you also file a AP( advance parol) which allows you to leave and renter while AOS is adjudicated over the next year. The AP takes about 2-3 months to receive I think.

All of the chapels in Vegas I've been to (several friends' weddings and one of my own) have been torn down and replaced by mega hotel casinos. It's quite an experience if you haven't been there before. I love Nevada. Lived there for 26 years before relocating to Alaska. :)  Good luck!

Lol, that's true, but the mega casinos have lovely wedding chapels now :)

I've spent my last three birthdays there and my future in laws live there now, so Vegas is always a plan B for us ;)

Starting the thread for April 2017 filers on K1 Visa, just because I'm too impatient (yep, bad thing here :P) to wait for someone else to do so.

 

We sent our package 30th March and it's expected to arrive to the PO Box today, 1st April, so I consider us to be April filers, since our case will be touched by USCIS first time in the current month.

 

Hoping the NOA1 doesn't take too long to have our receipt number, and that we can get the NOA2 by July the latest, seeing how things are moving right now... though I've noticed there's a substantial amount of January filers, which I guess it could affect our wait and timeline.

 

Crossing fingers and wishing good luck to everyone.

Yeah I wasn't really sure, plus I don't want to keep counting down the days, 

 

But we received our NOA1 in the post on 28th July..... still a LONNNNGGGGG way to go yet.

I have some family stuff I have to deal with in January 2017 so I wouldn't leave until March/April 2018 anyway so I'm cool with the waiting. lol
