Hello everybody,

My fiancé and I are just starting the process for the Fiancé visa and even if i'm excited, i'm so stressed out! I would like some help to make sure I'm not forgetting anything on the first step. I have a file with all the steps for the first package. Does it look okay for you or did I forget something?

1. Form I-129F: cover letter, declaration of how we met in person in the last two years, fiancé letter of Intent, proofs of having met in past two years
2. Form G-325a (one for my fiancé and one for me): one passeport photo + copy of he Birth certificate or passeport
3. G-1145

Thank you so much and good luck to everyone!!!

Looks fine to me, except:

1- Letters of intent to marry have to be for both of you, petitioner and beneficiary.

2- You don't need the beneficiary's birth certificate at this stage.

3- Of course, don't forget the check or money order for the $535 fee.

Good luck! Though it seems you'll be May fillers. :)

1. Oh yes, you're right, we both need to write the letter! Thank you!

2. Concerning the birth certificate, I read that in the step-by-step guide so I'm not sure if it's better to send it?

"11

Copy of the Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years or a copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship. " You didn't send it with your package? My fiancé is not sure to have it at home and his passeport expires in 2018 so that would be a relief!

Another question, when it comes to show pictures of us together to proof that we met in the past two years, can we just print them in colors on a printer or does it have to be a " real " picture?

Thank you so much!

Hi,

My fiancé sent our I129-F packet on April 15 and was delivered on April 19th. How come we haven't got our NOA1 yet :( Is it early to say that our packet would still be under evaluation or worse RFE :(  How long does it usually take?

Yes, you need the birth certificate or passport for the US citizen (petitioner), but you won't need the beneficiary's one until the Embassy stage.

And we printed pictures in normal paper, in a collage with description of people, date and places in them, using our printer. I don't think that's going to be an issue, since photographs are considered secondary, although crucial as proof.

Hope that helps :)

Don't worry, you are still good.

I'll cross my fingers so you get it soon. Keep in mind sometimes they forget to send the email/text, so you might have to wait for the hardcopy to know.

Oh yes, that what I meant! I was talking about his, not mine, but that wasn't clear! I hope he can find his Birth certificate as we are applying from overseas (he is in the military).

Great, we'll do that for the pictures then, that's so much easier.

Thank you again for your help, I really appreciate it!

We also applied from overseas, my fiancée is in the military as well. You can order your birth certificate online on vitalcheck.com, that's what we did.

Good luck on your journey 😊

Hi we are April filers however this is our second application. We first applied in August 2016 but received an RFE in October asking for evidence we had met in person. We sent back some information and photos. We then waited until January 2017 which was the 90 day time frame for the ucis to reply. We called them and two weeks later early February 2017 our application was denied as the evidence wasn't all from the two years prior to our application our mistake!. And the photos we sent of us together at various times in the last 18 months were considered secondary evidence. So we have reapplied mailing our new application April 1st including everything requested and more!! We have our NOA 1 and now sit patiently waiting again. It's a hard long journey but we wish you all well.

I just wanted to know is this the first time for everyone or like us are you reapplying?

Also I was showing how long some of you may have to wait. Let's hope it's quicker this time!!! 😊

Sorry I didn't explain myself that well either first time :) And keep in mind we are still in the process, so I can't be 100% sure about the pictures. But I read other people did it that way too, so quite positive that part is fine.

Uh oh! Welcome to the April fillers, but I'd lie if I said that post of yours wasn't a bit disturbing. Didn't you have plane tickets or something in the two years period, that they were asking for more proof?

We sent proof for all the four times we met, and the first one was actually the one that was documented the best, since it was a vacation for both of us, and not one staying at the other's... But that happened in February 2015, which means two years and a month before filling. Now I wonder if that's going to be a problem, though I wouldn't understand if that's the case, considering plane tickets, pictures together and all that for the other three times should be more than enough.:o Worried now :(

Hi don't be worried. The mistake was entirely ours we didn't send enough information. Also we didn't realise they'd want so much. I had been in the USA from the UK for over a year and we were even living together!  I was just posting how long things took for us last time.

sorry im trolling all the fliers but well bored and anxious like most. I am a march filer. I am a first time filer, I do know a few people that have filed in the past few years so I had lots of advise pre trip to what to keep for evidence I only met my fiancé one time in Jan... but I kept Hotel, restaurant, grocery store(SM) receipts.. boarding passes ,  Itineraries,  sent passport stamp, photos of us together plus photos of us with her family  including our engagement party. Also made sure to post pictures during the trip on fb location on and with friends and families comments including video comments. screen shot them and sent them too. as for intent we have screen shots even on fb of when we officially posted relationship status and our engagement status. Kind of curious to what you may have been missing that they where wanting. I wish all you april filers look im end of march so im right there with you all.
