For the doctor we used (Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas in Toronto), we could not book a medical until we had our appointment date. I'm not sure if the other doctor's had that requirement or not, but I would check out their websites for specific instructions on scheduling the appointment.

Thanks! I'm happy to hear that. That's why this forum is awesome!

Edit: Just checked your timeline. Wishing you a speedy NOA2!

Thanks!

I know know if it matters but it seems the NOA2s sent dates appear to be more in alignment with approvals rather than the official received dates in order of positive feedback. Just curious as to what other people think.

No we are not allowed to make a doctor's appointment until we have the interview booked unfortunately. Once your NVC case number says READY on the tracker you can send in Packet 3 by email to the Montreal Embassy. You can find packet 3 here https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf After that within 24 hours you usually receive packet 4 stating that you can schedule your interview and medical. :) Hope that helps. If you have any questions just ask them and me or many of the other Canadians can help you. I also just got my case number from NVC and today it moved to In Transit! woohoo. Good luck on your journey and hey maybe I will see you at the interview stage. :D You never know.

Not an April filer but would like to wish everyone luck :)

When you receive your NoA1, check all the details listed of the petitioner and beneficiary. Contact USCIS if there are any mistakes for the names, dates of birth etc. USCIS has a e-Request portal here https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do

After receiving your NoA1 hardcopy, don't forget to update your VJ timeline. Refer to the hardcopy's notice date.

For your information, all I-129F submissions are sent to CSC now so your service center should be updated as CSC on your timeline. Your NoA1 will bear a WAC receipt number. If your case is transferred out of CSC later, you will then receive a new and subsequent notice (not the NoA1) stating where it is transferred to.

Consider signing up for a myUSCIS account here https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/displayLogon.do. This page is useful when you want to check your case status. However, there's not much to see at the NoA1 stage as there won't be any updates until they start adjudicating it. At NoA1 stage, it just tells you the same thing as the text, e-mail and hardcopy. But if your case is transferred out, there would obviously be an update online (corresponding with the new notice) in between the NoA1 and NoA2.

While waiting for your NoA2, refer to the VJ guide http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide to find out what documentation you need to prepare for the K-1 stage.

Always refer to the official websites to download or complete the latest forms as well as to find out about the fees.

USCIS forms: https://www.uscis.gov/forms

USCIS fee schedule: https://www.uscis.gov/g-1055

DS-160: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

Best of luck and congratulations in advance on your NoA1 and subsequently, your NoA2.

Very Very helpful!  Thank you!

Is anyone able to give me an estimated arrival time of my NAO2? We went through a lawyer who also tells us they are backed up from February, I can give them my WAC receipt number? Going on 140 days and been trying to figure it out.

They tell EVERYBODY they are processing February. If you fill out your time line, VJ gives you an estimate of when your case may be adjudicated. Is your received date on the 13th? They have been approving the first half of April up unto about the 19th.

They are working on and around your case, Its hard to say when they will work on it as they are still February and March filers waiting on their approvals. Could be today or much later.

Good Luck!

Here is the information for processing through Canada for USA K1. https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/

You're asking questions to those who are in the same boat you are in but may not be ahead of you to answer your questions. Why not head over to the subforum for Canada and ask the kind folks over there. That way you get the straight talk and not why don't you call or I think or may no answer at all.
