I129F: Address in the US where fiance intends to live

Hi, I am currently filling out the I129F and I am stuck with the question where my fiance intends to live. Here is my situation, what should I do? Both of us are living in Argentina and have no family in the states (I was born in the states but my family lives in Argentina), but we have some friends living in the US (I even put one of them in my mailing address). We are planning on getting the K1 visa and live in the US, but I will probably arrive around August and I will not have an address in the States until then. What should we use as the address where my fiance intends to live? Will that address be used in the future to continue with the visa application? Should I put a friends address? Leave it blank?

You cannot leave it blank. Use your friends address for now. Your fiancé can update his/her address once she applies for the visa, or even when he/she enters the US.

I don't know how it works for fiancé visas but we put "unknown" on our I-130 for me as my husband was moving back to Washington in the time between filing and my arrival and we had no address in Washington at the time of filing. We were approved with no RFEs.

They may ask at the interview where you plan on living. If your only idea right now is at a friends house, I would def talk to your friend and make sure that you can stay there and then use which ever friend agree's to let you live there.

But do make sure you have a plan on where your moving too, as this most likely will come up in the interview.

Yes, following advice on this forum. An address for the immigrant is not needed to file but you must provide an address at POE. This is for a spousal visa, by the way. 

 

And any address you provide at this this stage is not binding. They are not going to visit you in the middle of the night to make sure the immigrant is there. The question asks where the immigrant "intends to live". Plans can change.

Doesn't matter. Ask yourself, if you did not find a place to live, who's house would you crash at?

Maybe I'm mistaken then. Anyway, doesn't hurt to propose an address, even if it changes down the line.

We are in the same situation. But we plan to live in a hotel for a month or so before we find an apartment.

 

Can we give POE a hotel address that we book?
