Hey all, is it normal for the IV fee to go back to PAY NOW on the main CEAC "fees" page?! We did pay 2 days ago, the money went out of the account and on the "receipts" page it shows the payment is "in process", yet when I select the IV fee payment receipt, it says "not paid' on it instead of in process. And when I click on the pay now, it actually allows me to select the fee again 😏... help:/ it shows as if it's not paid except for the one place it still says in process, so perhaps it is in process, but what concerns me is that it showed in process on the main fees page before aswell and it went back to pay now.... ???

Very confused:

I just submitted my DS-260 and then emailed all my documents to the NVC. MTL is my code.

Then I looked at the website (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html) . did something change? Now I was supposed to upload my documents online at CEAC? It doesn't even give me that option in my portal!

Someone please put my mind at ease. Did I do this wrong?

NVC has updated their portal for certain applicant locations and has therefore updated the guidance on their Submit Documents page as well.  The three letters prefacing your Case # identify the embassy location where the applicant will most likely be interviewing.  These three letters also indicate which processing method(s) you would be applicable for.

See information from NVC in response to question #8 during their November session with the American Immigration Lawyers Association regarding the "Modernized Immigrant Visa (MIV) Process": https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/AILA/Q&A AILA NVC November 2016.pdf

The process only changed yesterday. As your consulate is Montreal that is one that now requires documents to be uploaded to CEAC. You may have to check if it applies to you since it could only for applicants with new CEAC accounts from yesterday onwards. If you were in the process of paying the fees etc and already had a CEAC account it might not apply to you. I'd just call the NVC to double check.

Is there a time lag between submitting the IV application and it switching to "start now" under AOS documents? Because I don't see that at all.

I suppose that it's moot - I already submitted everything by email. I hope they don't get confused and mess up. The NVC call center people wouldn't be able to tell me anything, right? Not until they actually open my file?

No more n/a? I signed in today to ceac site,  and see no more n/a s. It looks like they updated the site and it looks different. It now says "paid" where it said "n/a" before. Where we before were looking for the 3rd n/a it now says "petitioner."

I guess we have to rely on the "Visa Status Check" page from now on.

Well looks like the upgrade to the ceac.state.gov site took away the famous 3 N/A's. they found out our secret. Hopefully NVC will go back to their automated system where you use to put your case# in and it gave you your case status.
Can't say I miss NVC stage. It's getting worst by the day. Sorry.
