If you don't have the transcripts yet, then you should include your federal tax return and any associated W2s and 1099s.  If you have filed for an extension, that needs to be include instead.

 

After April 18th (deadline for 2016 taxes), the NVC would expect that you have either filed your taxes or filed for an extension.  If you're filing in May, then you should definitely include it.

oh, okay, sorry I thought the deadline was April 15th (I am not the USC haha).

Well the thing is my husband (USC) already did file, but the transcript wasn't available yet (at least a week ago they weren't) is what I heard. He lives in Europe with me, so his dad will be the joint sponsor and he just filed theirs a week ago, I think. So basically  my question was about waiting for transcripts. Since it takes some weeks after filing the taxes to get those (I suppose) and they just recently filed. Hope that makes sense

nvc is confused, one day they tell you your case is being reviewed the next it is sitting in the review department collecting dust.

Transcripts aren't available for a few weeks after he files but if he filed, then he should have a copy of his taxes.  If he doesn't have a copy of his filed taxes...then you'll just have to wait.

Actually my packages were all scanned in 31st Jan, and my police certificate had already arrived to them in october last year as its straight from the police , to the embassy, then to NVC.  Then they sent my police cert again in mid Feb due to my case number changing partway through my process (I moved countries).  NVC still has my scan date as 31st Jan, so my police certificate being resent did not start my clock again.

It may be different if its documents from you rather than the embassy, but just letting you know it doesn't ALWAYS reset the clock.  I would call and ask them.

I will have the joint sponsor submit his Tax Transcripts and well as W2s to show his individual income (because him and my MIL file taxes jointly but my FIL's income is sufficient and my MIL barely makes anything at all) 

But for my Husband (the main sponsor) - can I just send in the Tax Transcripts without W2s? or are these also needed for all 3 years?

W2s are only required if you are submitting federal taxes and not submitting a transcript OR if the sponsor filed jointly as the W2 is used to establish individual income .
